  2. I'd also add purity of tone, developed and connected voice throughout registers, and perfect technique. I could go on bc I love her style of singing reminds me of sarah vaughan

  3. My favourite female vocalist of all time - she pushes boundaries with her voice, style and music and is not afraid to not conform. Sheer brilliance.

  4. She's blessed with an energetic, spunky voice that showcases a great deal of applicability across a host of distinct genres. She can deliver soulful R&B material, she can sing all-out rock ("Cold War" -- especially live), or alternative funk, too. If she is a mezzo-soprano, and she may well be, she's definitely a higher flavored one. I think it's interesting how she has incorporated the whistle register into her performance and it complements her strong midrange quite nicely, given her a wide range of notes and colors to deploy as she sees fit. One of my personal favorites.

  5. She sounds unique and sings across many genres with ease. Bold of her accessing the whistle register and incorporating it into her other material. She's pretty individual to me and I like her. You can't possibly mix her up with anyone else.

  8. Yes, her lower area reminds me of Sarah Vaughan. Only significant difference I'd note is that Janelle has a tad more ease of the high notes and her voice, though rich and slightly raspy at times, is lighter overall. But I am certain Sarah Vaughan has influenced her. I can hear it.

  10. C#3-C7......This girl is amazing..... all 3 octaves 6 notes and a seminote are here to impress...But that C7 sounded like a chest note at times.

  11. I've looked up Mezzo-soprano on Wikipedia and there was no such thing as a spinto-mezzo. only a Lyric, coloratura and dramatic
