Also, if you ever listen to an Etta James song, you should know that's the way Etta performed too. A little over the top, but that's the way soul is.. The same with Aretha. Again, sorry but your comment has no importance at all...Nahunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341723937148634092.post-66725206119725255982012-01-31T02:55:02.049+00:002012-01-31T02:55:02.049+00:00i think she overdid it once again
idk if its just...i think she overdid it once again
idk if its just her instinct to overuse her runs and unlike other people i didnt find it at all emotional when xtina gets on stage the only thing she comes off across as is overbearing - shes always trying to show off her chops
it was a funeral and i think she sang the song incorrectly by going over the top with the runs idk if she can ever just sing a song anymore Alhfydnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341723937148634092.post-54742260214379280602012-01-30T09:56:49.567+00:002012-01-30T09:56:49.567+00:00Yeah, she usually goes over the top with the runs ...Yeah, she usually goes over the top with the runs and melisma, but hell, can you blame her? She's amazing and very emotional, she really makes you feel the song. Pure soul. When I hear Etta's songs I feel kinda confused, because people are always complaining about Xtina sounding like she's roaring in high notes but Etta sounded exactly the same, or even more.Nahunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341723937148634092.post-696568376960595152012-01-29T22:43:16.758+00:002012-01-29T22:43:16.758+00:00Your thoughts on the vocal?Your thoughts on the vocal?Hannahnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4341723937148634092.post-24112299799350209432012-01-29T18:20:18.404+00:002012-01-29T18:20:18.404+00:00I know she was emotional and all but I really did ...I know she was emotional and all but I really did wish she would lay off the runs a bit in this song. I mean if I didn't know the song by heart I wouldn't have known what she was singing. Overall it was a good performance but she still needs a lot more work on her voice.Briannoreply@blogger.com
