It's no secret that Born This Way has some pretty obvious similarities to Express Yourself. Likewise, the chorus of Give Me All Your Luvin' sounds just like Bohemian Like Me by Dandy Warhols. WHO CARES??

When she was called out for "copying"/"borrowing" from Madonna, Gaga acknowledged the similarities and that was the end of it until the whole "reductive" comment came from Madonna.

I enjoy her live vocals more than anyone. Her sing-rap delivery is addictive. She's the only artist I'm excited to see perfom. She has a great song catalogue and she is a great dancer. Best artist in the industry.

I personally think that a lot of the criticism of her sound comes from the fact that she is not a native English speaker- there is a marked difference in the way she sings in Spanish versus the way she sings in English. She's improved drastically at pronouncing English sounds (earlier in her career, for example, she had a much harder time with pronunciation), but it's still not her first language. Personal preferences and intonation aside, she's quite a good singer.

Hey! Well I think Leanne was a worthy winner. For me, she wasn't one of the stand-out contestants until the semi-final, when she sang 'Run to You' and blew everyone away.

What I loved about the final was how different the four singers were from each other. However Leanne being the 'safest' in terms of look and style, I could see that she was probably going to win. She is a real technician though and I admire that crazy control she has. I just hope she develops a bit more of a personality - her shy demeanour when being interviewed reminds me a lot of Leona Lewis, and that may count against her at gigs etc.

I had never considered 'the curse' of the male reality winner, but other than Will Young I think you're right! I also agree that the end was a bit flat - I think they may have been over-running somewhat so had to wrap things up in a hurry. I'm stoked for Tom Jones though - that guy has a hell of a set of pipes on him!
