[New Video] Mariah Carey "Triumphant (Get 'Em)"

How does Mariah Carey do "Triumphant" in the new video for the soon to be labelled "buzz-track" of the same name? Well, the same way she does everything else: posing, pouting and trying as hard as she can to be sexy.

Just like the song itself [review here], Mariah Carey isn't even the main attraction of the video- that privilege goes to the boxers and the boxing match itself. Instead, she's relegated to the babe holding the numbered cards between bouts. Not that she seems to have a problem with it; clearly enjoying parading herself and her new slimline figure for the crowd. Or maybe I've interpreted it all wrong and this is really a visual representation of Mariah Carey's own triumph with her weight? (Why does that sound so bitchy when I read it back?)

[Review] Leona Lewis : "Trouble"

Leona Lewis has released a new song from her upcoming third LP, Glassheart. And people, you can all relax, because the dance direction last single Collide was showcasing is nowhere to be found. Instead, new song Trouble is a dramatic, and building mid-tempo song that puts Leona Lewis firmly back in safer (musical) territory, though with an edgier attitude courtesy of the lyrics.

Fellow British Diva Emeli Sande was responsible for penning Trouble, and her influence can be heard strongly throughout the song. Not just lyrically, but musically: with the composition and structuring of the song seeming to mirror Sande's own breakthrough hit Heaven quite heavily. It's a choice that really only fails on Trouble's chorus; which contains too many distracting pauses in the vocal melody for this listeners taste.

[Album Track] Ellie Varner : "So Fly"

Everyone has those days where they feel like they're not at their best: not quite skinny enough, pretty enough, rich enough or just generally feeling inadequate.

New Diva on the scene Ellie Varner knows what I'm talking about. Her song So Fly is a quirky, funny and honest account of a young lady, who though thinks her life might be easier if she looked differently, has come to accept that she's "So Fly" the way she is.

[Free Music] Kelly Clarkson "Get Up (A Cowboy's Anthem)"

Do I like Kelly Clarkson? Yes. Do I like free music? God, yes! Do I like American Football? Not particularly. Well then, today is (kinda) my lucky day because Ms Clarkson has released a rousing (free) tribute to her hometown American football team, the Dallas Cowboys
.

Kelly Clarkson is one of five musicians- the others being Kid Rock, Travie McCoy, Ice Cube and Wiz Khalifa- been given the opportunity by Pepsi to write and record a song for their own favourite team. Kelly was apparently so excited with the honour of recording a song for the Dallas Cowboys, she penned the lyrics the same night she was offered the gig! Now that is a fan!

[Video Review] Brandy: "Put It Down"

brandy chris brown hug

Is anybody checking for Brandy anymore? The reason I ask is because her posts seem to get the lowest views for this site; which is odd considering some (her fans) call her the "Vocal Bible". Anyway, for those still interested, the singer has released the video (finally) for single Put It Down [Review here].

I was wondering why it was taking so long for this video to drop; the single debuted at the start of May, and the video was filmed at the start of following month. However, having just watched this awkward affair, I bet the delay was due to a desperate editor/ director fervently trying  to stitch together a half decent showing from a bunch of bad takes.

[Review] Taylor Swift:"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"

Taylor Swift returns with new single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, taken from her October-due, fourth album, Red. Unsurprising-if you've noted the title- the single is a spunky break-up song, that sends out a very clear message to the ex involved: "it's over, Gurlfriend"...or rather "boyfriend"....so move on!
