[Music Video] Mary J. Blige - "Right Now"

For some reason, I was expecting the output from Mary J. Blige's The London Sessions to be more...acoustic in nature. There's no rational reason for me having come to this conclusion, other than the album cover, but you'd think by single number three I'd have managed to dissuade myself from this falsehood.

[Music Video] Jessie J - "Burnin' Up"

Jessie J continues the push for her soon-to-be-released third album, Sweet Talker, with single number two, and Bang Bang's follow-up, Burnin' Up.

Mariah Carey Covers Billie Holiday's "Don't Explain", Hints At Nick Cannon's Infidelity

Mariah Carey's on tour!

It only started a few days ago, but already Mariah is apparently spilling the Tea on her marriage. Covering Billie Holiday's Don't Explain in Japan, the Diva slipped in the line: "I know you cheated m**herf**er". It was done in such a way that I'm not sure if anyone in the audience even caught the dig.

Now I know that line isn't from the original Billie Holiday arrangement, so was Mariah taking a jab at her estranged husband, Nick Cannon? He has denied infidelity previously, thus it could be within the realms of possibility that the Diva was having a little fun with the song. However, that seems unlikely to me.

On a side note, some have emailed to ask why I haven't dragged Mariah for the vocals demonstrated thus far on the tour? The simple reason is, I'm not going to kick someone when they're already down.

[Free For all Friday]

Look how these gorgeous beasts react to Marmite! Cats, cats and more giant cats!

If you don't know the score, here be the rules:
  • Try not to get too perverted- this site needs to basically be "safe for work".
  • If somebody starts a controversial subject, try keeping it civil when dealing with it. If things get out of hand please flag the conversation.
  • It would be nice if it stuck to music, but it's not a requirement! So talk about news, current events, how you're getting your hair done next time you hit the hairdresser! Whateves, really!
  • No nasty comments aimed at other users.
Inappropriate hugs to all of y'all (hi-fives to the underagers), and wishing you an awesome weekend!

[New Music] Fergie - "L.A. Love (La La)"

How can you improve your chances of a global hit? Squeeze as many country/towns into your three minute song as you can, that's how! GENIUS!

This might be the logic behind BEP singer Fergie's comeback single L.A. Love (La La), where the Diva seemingly opened her atlas app and started shouting random places into the microphone. Ok, so it's a tad more lyrical than that, but even still, if there are more than two writers on this song I will be disappointed...goes to check. Returns disappointed. There are four writers listed: Fergie, Dijon McFarlane, Shomari Wilson and Royce Thomas Theron Thomas. Oh well, I'll get over it.

Aretha Franklin Covers "Rolling In The Deep" Live @ Late Show

Yesterday had many of us suffering a Marmite-like response to Aretha Franklin's cover of Rolling In The Deep. Some loved it, some hated it, but with the release also came suspicions!! Suspicions that....brace yourself.... the Queen Of Soul's vocal weren't all her own, having had some help from a computer. SAY THERE AIN'T NO WAY!

[New Music] Aretha Franklin Covers Adele's "Rolling In The Deep"

"Drunk aunt" pretty much sums up my thoughts on this, must have been a one-take, cover by Aretha Franklin of Adele's  Rolling in the Deep. The addition of  Ain't No Mountain High Enough at the end is just as unexpected as some of the weird vocal choices made by the Diva, but I can see why the producer added it. Aretha's improv sounds better, and less jarring, over that than the Rolling in the Deep backing.
