Miranda Lambert & Meghan Trainor Tell 2014 CMA's "All About That Bass"

So clearly the 2014 CMA's were going for crossover appeal with the inclusion of some oddly shoehorned in pop pairings on the night.

If the Ariana Grande pairing with Little Big Town wasn't enough of a mind trip for you, take a gander of Miranda Lambert and Meghan Trainor teaming up on the shady "empowerment" anthem, All About That Bass.

FKA Twigs Gifts Magical Performance of "Two Weeks" To The Tonight Show

The more live performances I watch of this Diva, the more I fall in love with her. And the rendition of Two Weeks she brought to The Tonight Show did nothing to buck this trend.

With two pieces of cloth and a rabble of fans (of the wind generating kind), FKA Twigs gave a simple but effective show that had my eyes glued to the screen from the get go. I'd like to imagine that the two wafting pieces of material were the physical representation of the sexually charged lyrics, but who knows, I may be reading too much into it. Either way, mien ears and eyes thoroughly enjoyed it.

[Forbes' Rich List 2014] Diva's Making Money!

This post is about something which is of no real concern to us plebs. Like really, what does it matter that these divas have gotten even more filthy rich over the period June 2013 to June 2014? Still, human nature is such that we are all as nosy as a Proboscis monkey/anteater cross, so let me just go right on ahead and post Forbes' tally of top earning female musicians.

For those wondering how they calculated the figures for said list, check out their site [here]. Even so, I'd take these figures with a pinch of these-don't-affect-my-life-in-any-way-so-who-really-cares. Though, if any of you lovely Divas are reading this, how bout buying me a diamond necklace. You clearly can afford it and I obviously deserve it....

Regarder la liste, peeps :

[Free For All Friday]

Happy Halloween, everyone!! I've got my costume ready- I'm going to be a skeleton- and have a test round of vodka jelly shots cooling in the fridge- watch them not set! Bring it on! So those are my plans- what are yours?

*I should add, I'm not sitting alone at home in a skeleton costume, drinking unset shots! Sad as my life is, I do actually have a party to attend!*

If you don't know the score, here be the rules:
  • Try not to get too perverted- this site needs to basically be "safe for work".
  • If somebody starts a controversial subject, try keeping it civil when dealing with it. If things get out of hand please flag the conversation.
  • It would be nice if it stuck to music, but it's not a requirement! So talk about news, current events, how you're getting your hair done next time you hit the hairdresser! Whateves, really!
  • No nasty comments aimed at other users.
Inappropriate hugs to all of y'all (hi-fives to the underagers), and wishing you an awesome weekend!

Kiesza & Jessie Ware Rock American Early Morning Television

Not together, of course! Separately, these Divas brought their undeniable talents to the television sets of our American cousins, waking them from their slumber with musical goodness. Let's see what we missed out on.

[Mash-Up] Taylor Swift & Beyonce - "XO" / "Out Of the Woods"

So it looks like Taylor is going to break the one million mark with the first week sales of latest album 1989. If she does, it will make it the third time in a row the Diva has accomplished this mammoth feat, bucking the trend -and perhaps breaking the curse- of no album, released this year, hitting platinum status in the States.

Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" Gets the Kelly Clarkson Treatment

Kelly Clarkson is so adorable- I could listen to her ramble all day!

[Music Video] Kiesza - "No Enemiesz"

The video for single number three from Kiesza's December-due album has hit Vevo! Welcome No Enemiesz to the third dimension!

[Music Video] Tamar Braxton - "Let Me Know"

Tamar Braxton is gearing up for album number three, and if its lead single is anything to go by, this Diva isn't playing with her sound or changing lanes on it. Brave woman!

Still unabashedly Rnb, Let Me Know is a smooth and warming love song built around a questionably used Aaliyah sample. Really, I'm not even sure why they included it since it's sped up to an unrecognisable pitch that effectively strips the sample of all character. It would have made more sense for them to have had Tamar sing a similar sentence, and then played with that. Still, the writers of the sample (The Isley Brothers) aren't credited on the song (according to Wiki), so perhaps the size and manipulation of it was done to avoid splitting royalties.

[New Music] Sia Covers Annie's "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile"

An Annie re-remake is coming to the big screens (boooo!) but Queen Sia has recorded a version of one of the musical's numbers, You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile, to promote this news (Yaay!).

It's a rendition that cranks the pop dial to max, with a delivery that has the Diva (i think purposely) putting on a childish voice at points. It's all very sugary, but that's understandable since the film is going to be targeted at families and kidlings (i.e not me). It was never going to be a death metal remix, no matter how awesome that would have been, but I think Sia added enough edge to make this take more akin to a bottle of Coca-Cola Life when it could have been straight-up regular ol' Coke. (I'm not sure I'm making sense anymore.)
