Mariah Carey Sorta Struggles Through "Infinity" and "VoL" @ 2015 Billboard Awards

Mariah Carey came to the Billboard Awards and gave us what we wanted: vocals that were adapted to the state of her voice on the night.

Kelly Clarkson Belts Out "Invincible" @ 2015 Billboard Awards

Kelly Clarkson can always be relied on to bring the vocals when she gets on stage. So much so, I don't really know what to say about her rendition of Invincible at the 2015 Billboard Awards. Specifically, I did enjoy how raspy her voice sounded here, with the chesty belts (which I thought were going to flop at one point) and head notes at and after 2.55 being pretty impressive.

Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears Lipsync For Their Lives @ 2015 Billboard Awards

Whoever is currently medicating Britney Spears is doing a bang up job! I almost believed she was a real girl watching her strut and work the stage with Iggy Azalea at this year's Billboard Awards .

[Currently Listening Intently To] D∆WN - "Calypso"

Dawn Richards (AKA D∆WN) is so absolutely slaying my existence with the releases from her critically acclaimed Blackheart that I'm thinking an album review might be a necessity- even though the LP has been out a while.

The track Calypso is not entirely representative of the album- featuring little singing and a structure/production that has managed to alienate some fans*. So don't make any rash judgements on the project off of that alone. But since Calypso is my C.L.I.T, it had to get the feature!

[Say What?] Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande Duet On "Don't Dream It's Over" Cover

Wait, whaat?! When did this even happen?!

Miley Cyrus and Ariana Grande appear to have teamed up to record a backyard session for something called The Hippie Foundation (!?). It wasn't even one of their own songs they covered, nor was it something scandalous, sexual or contemporary! It was Crowded House's Don't Dream It's Over that got a double Diva remix. An odd choice from such young whippersnappers.

[Music Video] Britney Spears' "Pretty Girls" Continues to Be "Fancy" Pt.2

So we've already established how Pretty Girls is Fancy pt. 2. Well the video does nothing to challenge this connection with an aesthetic that swipes its '90s-inspired, Clueless visuals too.

But there is some levity to be found, with a little skit midway and a zany narrative that sees Iggy the alien abduct my child, Britney Spears. The sad thing is, I'm not entirely sure Britney got that this was a music video and not real life. The excited look of happiness on her face, when the transporter beam narrows in on her, leads me to believe she thought her life of servitude to the record label and her dad was finally over. #freebritney
