Lisa Fischer Vs. Whitney Houston: Who was the Better Vocalist?

The comparison between Whitney Houston and Lisa Fischer isn't one I've personally made before.

It was actually a YouTube video (featured below) that got to me to thinking about the pair in any sort of adversarial way. And the longer I ruminated on it, the more I realised Ms. Fischer's dark and rich voice was way more suitable an instrument to compare Whitney's to than say -the oft pitted against Divas- Mariah Carey and Celine Dion.

Leona Lewis Continues Musical Ascent with ‘I Am’

Leona Lewis has released the title track from new album, I Am.

Much like the LP's first release Fire Under My Feet, I Am finds the Diva in a defiant mood. Lyrically this could simply be another tale of love gone wrong. However, if we follow the thread from single number one, this is most likely another masked jab at ex-manager Simon Cowell. Fighting talk or not, it's giving me Unfinished Sympathy teas and striking vocals- so you know I'm loving it.

Ciara Serves Up Sauce with "Dance Like We're Making Love" Visuals

Looks like Ciara's vocal profile got a spruce up just in time for the release of the  Dance Like We're Making Love video. Three cheers for synchronicity!

It's another slowy from the Diva's newest album Jackie, and for someone best known for her upbeat stuff, this is always going to be a risky strategy come chart time. However, I'm actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this saucy song. Maybe I won't be alone in feeling this way and Dance Like We're Making Love will become a sneaky smash.

The Dave Meyer's directed video is also pretty gorgeous, too! You Go Girl, Cici.

Lana Del Rey Returns With Gorgeous Track, "Honeymoon"

A wild Lana Del Rey track has surfaced on the Diva's YouTube page and it is EVERYTHING!

Who even knew album number three was being recorded?! Or that it had already been titled Honeymoon and been produced with Mark Ronson?! (Real music bloggers, I'd imagine!)

Well, to all of the above, I was ig-nor-ant!! However, if this title track of spellbinding beauty is any indication of what is in store from this new LP, I'm not even ashamed of admitting to this idiotic oversight. The need of this album is all that matters now!!!

[Watch] Brandy Sins By Singing On The Train

Having to share air and personal space with others, while trapped in a giant metal container hurtling through a tunnel under the damn ground is awful enough. Add someone trying to do anything but sit quietly and get from point A to B in the least bothersome fashion possible, and you have the makings of a nightmare scenario for me.

And as it turns out, I'm not the only one who feels this way. Watch as "Vocal Bible" Brandy gets pretty much ignored as she subjects her fellow prisoners passengers to her talent.
