[NEW MUSIC] Kali Uchis "Nuestro Planeta"

Post by: Montrez Rambo

Kali Uchis has yet to make an artistic misstep since I came across her music. Nuestro Planeta is no exception. It's not too different from the tons of other reggaeton out there but the visuals in the music video were juicy.

The oiliness, the sexy guys, the chick p*ssy popping on the floor, the bikes, lighting... it's something to behold.

Kesha Slays VOCALLY and EMOTIONALLY with the Triumphant "Praying"

Post by: Diva Devotee
Kesha has been through the most turbulent of times, so it's  not surprising her return to music, free from the controlling shackles of Dr. Luke, would explore themes of rebirth and new beginnings. What is surprising is how hard the Diva goes, vocally, on the emotional track, Praying.

[Proof] Jennifer Hudson doesn't SHOUT (or Warm-up) when singing.

Post by: Diva Devotee
Some of y'all wanna clown Jennifer Hudson, calling her "Foghorn" and "loud".

Adjectives I can kind of get, if I try really hard. What I can't be dealing with, is people saying she shouts when she's hitting notes your faves could only dream of.

There is a clear difference between shouting and singing. One takes control, coordination and skill, the other is an unfocused and chaotic push to create sound. If you can't tell the difference, watch as the Pocketbook singer schools a Voice contestant on the difference between the two all while offering helpful tips on staying on pitch.

Adele done gone busted her voice again

adele crying

Post by: Diva Devotee
Adele has been plagued by vocal problems throughout her meteoric career.

But now, perhaps saddest for her, the voice has given way just two days before the end of her self-titled world tour on home turf at Wembley Stadium. Clearly heartbroken, Adele took to her Twitter to announce the news and explain the sorrow she feels letting both fans and herself down.

Queen SEVDALIZA Returns with "Bluecid"

Post by: Diva Devotee
Divas are so plentiful and artistically varied that we can find one to suit all our moods and needs. (Not in that way you perv).

When I'm looking to have my creative battery recharged there are the obvious roster of Divas I could turn to. Bjork and Missy Elliot are two such icons that come to mind. Musically they stay on their own highway, let alone in a lane, presenting their creations to us in a visual way that is often as inspired as the music itself. And it's this combo of sound and sight that usually provides me the necessary wind beneath my wings to soar, creatively, once again. (Yes I'm aware I'm mixing metaphors!)

When even these imaginative Divas have failed to reinvigorate, my last resort has been to turn to singer/songwriter/visual genius, Sevdaliza.

[WATCH] - One Love Manchester

Post by: Montrez Rambo

As a result of the terrorist attach in Manchester, England, a benefit concert was organized to raise money for the families affected.
I won't comment on the performances themselves apart from that I enjoyed them and it really brought joy to me to see people coming together to show that tragedy can't break them, that they're bigger than the events that transpired.

I do want to talk about Ariana, though. I think it is fair to say she handled the tragedy extremely well. I was a bit worried abut how she'd be dealing with it all and how she was taking care of herself during the aftermath after reading reports that she was very, upset. I just couldn't imagine being in her shoes, with so many young people just there to enjoy a concert to have their lives taken from them. She probably felt responsible for their deaths. However, she's been very supportive of the families affected and staying positive.

After all, a concert is a place where people go to get away from the world, to enjoy their favorite artists in an environment where they can be fully immersed, in many ways, a sanctum. The One Love Manchester concert was that and more for many. The link is below.

[Free For All Friday]

Ya'll, life has been hell the past month. Okay, since April, I got moved from my division to the supply division to be this think called an FSA. Well, the galley and messdecks on my ship got shut down for renovations for a month so they moved all the FSAs to deck division. We were out in the sun, sanding, needle gunning and painting the helo-tower, aft missile deck and flight deck. It was awful. But, we're back in the messdecks again so I'm partially relieved.

If you're new here, the rules:

  • Try not to get too perverted- this site needs to basically be "safe for work".
  • If somebody starts a controversial subject, try keeping it civil when dealing with it. If things get out of hand please flag the conversation.
  • It would be nice if it stuck to music, but it's not a requirement! So talk about news, current events, how you're getting your hair done it doesn't matter. As long as it is productive.
  • No nasty comments aimed at other users.

Enjoy your weekend and stay safe, ya'll!
