[Watch] Christina Aguilera Rocks Billboard With Pitbull and A-ha's Morten Harket

Christina Aguilera sounded great during her 2013 Billboard Awards showing of Feel This Moment with Pitbull. But don't get excited, this isn't the performance where X-Tina was finally rocking good technique or a healthier set of pipes. Nope, this was a case of a louder backing track and a turned down microphone. Considering Christina sings live, loud and proud regardless of the quality of her voice, it does leave me wondering whose decision it was to level the tracks in that way. I'm calling on an old friend to investigate....

Oh well, at least she looked classy, and there was better chemistry between the pair than exhibited during their outing at the Kids' Choice Awards. Speaking of classy, was that Ke$ha introducing them at the start!?! Wowie, she scrubs up well!

  1. I am falling in love with the energy present. On a different note, I keep hoping and wishing Christina would go back to the drawing bored and relearn her voice.... but I hate to admit it... I loved...this... per....I can't finish the sentence sorry. My pride won't allow me.

  2. When I heard it this morning (night for you guys) I thought it was pretty good so I gave a second listen. Definitely louder backing track. I'm quite disappointed. *sigh*

  3. I KNEW THE SONG SOUNDED FAMILIAR. I just couldnt remember what it was lol. The only real positives I would say is the surprise appearance at the end and the fact that Christina looks like shes thinning down.

  9. I was incredibly excited when they brought out Morten, always nice to hear a nod to the sample. I'm actually getting back into Xtina, I think after the Bionic tour was cancelled, she might have been out of practice, and the weight gain seemed to have affected her stamina. But after this and the Kids Choice Awards, it really seems like she's trying to get her voice back in shape, as well as her rockin' body. Hopefully her working out will mean she's ready to promote Lotus a little more? (Lol, probs not.)

  12. yeah, I think lotus is dead in the plant pot. Also with her returning to The Voice next season I worry they'll be no new music for a while.

  13. Wow. I heard such a beautiful run at the beginning that was trashed due to the backing track. They could of kept the backing track because Christina is usually a 100% live with only accent notes/harmonies being punched in by a backing or back-up singers but she obviously needs some support now i guess....but idt it needed to be THAT much. Like turn it down a couple of notches they would have had the same effect of the support, but we could of still heard her!

  14. There's a few videos posted of her singing the whole thing completely live. I don't know why the awards had a extra lard backtracking played over her when it was televised. Here are those all live videos: http://youtu.be/e2oHhfymQu8, & http://youtu.be/IwvbAyHSSn0 . She sounded great to me. She even hit a random Eb6 exclamation @ 2:03

  17. The backing track is annoying but at least she's back to her energetic self and definitely looks happy and confident. The videos live from the studio/arena show her voice sounds good, but because of the crap quality it's hard to tell if she sounds great technically, not that this song requires a lot a huge vocal. I'd say it was the show's/network producers that wanted backing tracks on everyone. She was probably pissed about that but not as pissed as I'm sure she was when she performed with Britney and Madge and they turned her mic off completely after her solo. Haha
