[Watch] Jessie J Performs "It's My Party" Live On Strictly Come Dancing

Jessie j 2013 Strictly

Strictly Come Dancing is back on UK screens, so you know what the means: a new primetime slot for promotion has opened up! This weekend Jessie J was lucky enough to bag the gig, performing her new single It's My Party- which still sounds like something Katy Perry should be singing- live for the audience.

As is usually the case with JJ, the Diva gave an excellent vocal; serving high energy and character while strutting across the stage.Though still not feeling the song, I can't deny that I always enjoy watching Jessie J perform live- and this time was no different.

It's My Party was released on the 6th of September.

  1. Flawless vocal, as per usual. Goodness me, the girl can sing.

Can I also just mention - I know she's still a fairly new popstar and it's definitely necessary, but that doesn't undermine it - how right Jessie does her promotion and releases etc? I follow her on instagram and it's literally every day/every other day she's doing a live gig here, and interview there, popping to Australia for a performance on X Factor, Sunrise, five radio stations and doing six magazine interviews in the space of three-four days, etc. RESPECT to the popstars that work their asses off to showcase their material :)

  2. Jessie J definitely knows how to bring a show as well as sing.
Yet I so far failed to be genuinely moved by her. As a result she tends to sort of reside at the back of the line of artists I try to keep an eye out for their appearances etc.

  3. I don't really like the song, but man she can sing, and also has a great stage presence. Also it's curious that althought I don't really like an excesive use of vocal runs, JJ's are an exeption, I simply love them.

Still, this is by far my favourite performance of her even though she doesn't sing solo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cAdbYOllQ0

  5. Couldn't agree more about the song, it does sound like something Katy Perry would sing! With that said she took a basic and lackluster song and really did THE MOST with it, great performance! I feel like with this album her songs seem very safe while her first album was much more of what I consider to be Jessie J, slightly abrasive, more aggressive and somewhat edgy. I'm sure this album will be successful though!

  7. I love Jessie J. It's like people criticize her for Katy Perry like songs, but at least she can handle them live. And it's part of Jessie J's character. She's very animate, carefree, fun, and kind of a caricature of herself. I know regardless people are not gonna like these kind of songs, but generally, people need to let artist be balanced, fun, and carefree. Not every song is gonna be "deep." I love the carefree, good mood "It's My Party" gives me. and she's a vocal TITAN! She has stage presence for days, she literally owns the stage.

  9. I love Jessie J, I think she has so much to her, she's the kinda woman that can fuck someone's face up, and be a completely vulnerable child, and a loving mother, and you can really believe it all. She's so good with her voice too, always in complete control. It's My Party definitely sounds like a basic song that someone else should be singing, but she's still selling it and it sounds great.

  10. Jessie has the fun 'fuck it all' attitude that can turn serious along with killer vocals and RANGE like Mimi (2000s Mariah).

  15. I quite like the song and usually Jessie's tone and shrill upper belting are not to my taste, the song itself is catchy and good to sing and dance along too, even though I do think it is a little too high.

  16. How the hell can you dance to this? Jump up and down and twirl? LOL...also does she sound a bit small here to you?
