[Listen] Mariah Carey Piques Interest With "Art Of Letting Go" Teaser

11.11.13 is the date for the Facebook release (say what?) of Mariah Carey's new single, The Art Of Letting Go. I didn't see this teaser on the date it was released as it was a certain special day for myself, but I thankfully happened to stumble upon it by chance today, three days later.

I am genuinely sooo exited about the song after watching the video. The Diva speaking about the project previously had failed to get my juices going, and even listening to her repeating old clich├ęs during the clip itself didn't excite.

The music playing in the background, however, spoke more loudly than anything Mariah could say: live orchestra, beautiful whistle notes and Larry Gold! All excellent signs that this project will see an evolution and maturing of the Rnb-pop sound Carey has been pushing for well over a decade.

Take a listen to the teaser, below!

  2. Im pretty sure everyone knows what my reaction was to it. By the time the whistles started ringing at the end I almost screamed.

  3. I want this era to resemble that of her "Mariah Carey, Music Box, Daydream, Butterfly & The Emancipation Of Mimi" era's, commercially speaking. She deserves it. I want everything, from the music to the marketing and promotional campaigns, to be perfect.

    PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE.

  4. Man, I love every second of this teaser. And I bet the single is gonna be one of her best. But... I guess NOTHING can save Mariah from flopping this time. The Merry Christmas ll you album was AMAZING, but nobody cared about it. The music industry and some of music buyers want the Mariah party and single woman, just like the Emancipation of Mimi Era. I really do think this is gonna be Mariah's best albums, but it won't sell as musch as it should.

I sure do hope she gets her #1s. I know currently they don't mean a lot to people on the blog as it does not really measure an artist's capability... but heck, if people like Katy can do it, Mariah sure as hell can!

  6. Hello everybody...

I am 24 years old. Here is a video of me singing my own, personal, version to "Jason Mraz's - I Won't Give Up". I uploaded it onto YouTube almost a year ago now, and haven't made anymore since (due to extreme personal difficulties) but I will be in days to come. Please leave your opinion, that would be much appreciated.

P.S: Could somebody tell me which kind of "Tenor/Baritone" I am? Light-Lyric or Lyric? I don't have a clue about vocal classifications at all. Thank you. - KEITH BOULTON.

  8. Merry Christmas II you knocked her original christmas albums opening sales off the charts and went to the number 1 spot on the R&B and HipHops chart. I wouldnt say nobody cared about it. Plus it sold well to have an entire televised concert and several promotional appearances.

  10. I agree I mean I doubt she will have a #1 from this even if it is perfect. I think people view her as 'old news'.
