What happens when one (supposed) non-vocalist covers another (supposed) non-vocalist? vOcAl INCEPTION, that's what!!
On the American Idol finale, Jennifer Lopez graced the stage to cover one of Rihanna's biggest hits: Diamonds. Bruno Mars' Locked Out Of Heaven was also there, but I'm not interested in that part.
How'd Jenny From The Block do? Well, let's just say it made a few appreciate Rihanna's voice a little better. Not me, of course. I already know Rih is basically Mariah, Whitney and Celine's combined vocal talents channelled through a modelesque vessel...Anywaaaaaaay, J.Lo also popped up on Ellen, where she reminded us of some of her own greatest hits via the medium of medley. Essentially, she gave the audience (and us) a taster of what we might expect from her newly announced Vegas residency.
Strangely, watching it made me less inclined to want to go see her.
