  1. keri hilson is proof that having a wide vocal range doesn't mean you are a good singer

  2. She sounds like an untrained soprano. A month of vocal coaching could help A LOT.

  4. In my opinion Keri has one of the best voices today.

She has breathtaking Melisma, stunning Vibrato, a wide range and beautful Timbre, it's rare to come across all of this in one voice.

Although it may lack slightly in power it is solid and by no means weak in comparison to others.

    A brilliant tecchnical singer! :D

    Um, no.
Keri's melisma is okay, but she doesn't use it nearly enough for it to be called "breathtaking."  And Mariah and Whitney's are far more exqhuisite.
    Range is so-so.
Her vibrato isn't "stunning", it's okay.  And she rarely uses it.
It's nice, and maybe versatile, but it's not a brilliant voice.

  8. Cyberghost I have to say i disagree.

She uses Melisma quite alot actually in most of her songs and live performances, check out 'Hustler' live.
Also she uses her Vibrato alot too, depending on the song it is delivered either rapidly or slowly and it is consistent.

These are what make her voice pretty special! :D.

  9. Not forgetting because of her dextrous and agile voice she utilises them with ease

  10. I've only ever heard her use melisma once or twice, and never to the point of "beautiful".  You want beautiful melisma?   Listen to Mariah Carey or Whitney houston.

  13. keri hilson is an ALTO that can hit very few soprano notes (HER WORDS)

  14. An alto isn't a solo voice part though. Mariah also calls herself an "alto" when she's clearly a soprano. Keri is definitely a soprano, her low notes are barely audible and her tone, timbre, vocal weight and tessitura are obviously that of a lyric soprano.

  15. Clearly she's a soprano but she needs training to open up her registers. her voice seems to connect with definition when her head voice sits properly but it's scatters between head and chest confusingly. training could definitely improve her career

  16. I absolutely adore her voice!!!!!!! It is very distinct and soothing. Her head voice is her highlight, along with those amazing runs. She needs to showcase it more because songs like intuition, slow dance, make love, where did he go, beautiful mistake & breaking point really show what a great vocalist she is. Oh my god can she hit those high notes. I like her belts too; and she doesn't over do it with them. Looking forward to new material. Wonderful songwriter she is as well

  17. LOL!!!@This vocal profile. Talk about your farce of the year. You guys practically had NOTHING to say about her lol. Honestly, she isn't much of a singer. She should stick to the song writing. I can't believe she had the nerve to throw shade at Beyonce's voice when literally Beyonce's voice smashes her small singularly-faceted voice. Honestly, Keri just may be a Lyric Mezzo and not a Soprano. I heard only one song of hers (Energy) and the colour and tessitura was reflective of a Lyric Mezzo's.
