Monica Naranjo - Vocal Profile/ Range

Vocal TypeSoprano
Vocal Range: 4 Octaves and a semitone 7 notes D3-Eb7
Whistle Register: Yes
Vocal Pluses: Strong, full, robust voice with brilliant control and support demonstrated throughout the registers. Has a dark, heavy midrange belt that is a marked contrast to her bright, light and higher range mixed belt which allows her incredibly to sing up to a C6. Her head voice is warm, thick and strong, with an operatic quality to it.
Vocal Negatives: Voice struggles a little on the lower notes.

Many thanks go to Lioha for introducing me to this incredible vocalist! Much appreciated.

  5. She's a dead ringer for the great Mina Mazzini (tone wise).
    Just my opinion.

  10. Her vocal range is written in the wrong way. It should be 4 octaves and one semitone

  11. Doesn't she sound like she strains and uses throat in the upper extremes?

But she is a great powerful soprano, i mean her voice is out of the world.

  12. Holy crap, is she amazing or what? I have been hogging her music ever since hearing her 'Europa'. Definitely one of the best pop/cross-over vocalists in the world. Brilliantly connected range on this woman. Her mix is worth killing for. Virtuoso!

  13. I think she is a Dramatic Soprano, full dramatic. Perhaps she sound like a Lyric-Dramatic or Spinti when she was 20th but, after her 30 years, she sounds full dramatic, steely and bright though all the register. Her Sweet singing is just a technicall too sounds like a spinto in the low, but she 100% Dramatic Soprano.

  14. It goes in and out, so I think it's a vocal effect. She wants the strained sound; in other videos, she belts quite clearly.

I have to say; she's the only woman I know of that can change their vocal timbre as much as Mariah.

It's a flamenco thing, sounding "torn". But she sings with an open throat.
Another vocalist with similar chameleonic timbre is Mina, who is Monica's idol
