Cheryl Impresses With New Video "For Call My Name"!

Simply "Cheryl" has ratcheted up the visuals in the accompanying video for new single, Call My Name, in the hope it’ll get us to spend our hard earned- insert relevant currency- on her comeback. Well, I suppose she has to now as she’s hasn't got that easy X-Factor money to fall back on.

But to be fair, no one can call Cheryl a slacker when it comes to her promos. Very much aware of her own strengths- which have always been more visual than audible- Cheryl has embraced them fully here and turned out perhaps her best video to date. Or at least a close second to Parachute.

Looking as STUNNING as ever, Cheryl continues to push the envelope when it comes to her dancing; attacking the masculine choreography with incredible vigour and get go. It's a little 90's/MC Hammer if I were to be picky, but it seems to be a style that is becoming somewhat her trademark, along with those harem pants she continues to rock like she doesn’t know any better.

If the dancing doesn’t do it for you, there’s plenty of other gorgeous scenes to enjoy: like the two Cheryl’s for the price of one mirror scene, where she oddly looks like Kim Kardhashian in the reflection: the fashiony, editorial posing in the tunnel; or, for all you structural engineers, Cheryl showing a bridge and its girders some love.

cheryl looking like Kim Kardhashian Not content with giving us "great face", colourful fashion and some banging choreography,  the start of the video even has Cheryl schooling us all on time management. Remember kids, if you have somewhere to be in a hurry, strutting like a diva is not the fastest way to get to there! Surely, the icing on top of an already satisfying cake!

Cheryl really pulled it out the bag this time, and the video for Call My Name is definitely up there with the best music visuals of the year! It may have even swayed my opinion of Call My Name altogether.

cheryl haters gonna hate gif

  1. Ha ha ha! This is great. Funny gif too! And yes, she does look like Kim K in the mirror, how weird is that?! Still can't get used to 'Cheryl' on its own though.

  2. It shares the same director as Nicki's "Starships" video! We all know how much you loved that!

  3. No way!!! How come Nicki's one looks so cheap? lol

  4. I had to come back on here tonight to tell you that I just caught myself singing this in the kitchen. Yikes - I think it's a grower.

  5. I was hoping you could tell me! That awful CGI at the start musta blown the budget. Whoever was responsible for that is laughing all the way to the bank.

  6. Did they CGI Nicki's boobs and bum too? Meow....saucer of milk for Karen!

  7. Hmmmm...I don't like it very much. Probably because I got sick of waiting for it to start at the beginning, what with all the unnecessary shots of her walking around and grinding on walls. It just seems very one dimensional to me...dancing in front of cars...whatever, not very creative, but then again the song isn't very creative. But I still like the song. Oh yeah, and I've never seen any of her other videos, so I have no idea how this compares to them.

  8.  Stop dictating my thoughts Hannah! ;D ( last joke about that I promise)

Except for liking the song ( I do not), I have to agree. But I am anyway not a fan of this style of music and music videos and therefor can't say I studied enough of them to really compare. I just see a minute or so and think "Oh My, yet another generic pop vid". Which is exactly what I thought a minute into the above video as well.

  9. Hahaha, I hate this type of music also and it was by a complete fluke that I liked this song! I was conflicted and embarrassed for liking it at first because I'm always so critical of generic dance music, but I just had to admit it, haha.

  10.  Yes, I felt the same about Madonna's Superbowl show. Honesty compelled me , in spite of my generally very negative view on such shows, to admit...I thoroughly enjoyed it. ( especially after seeing that Gaga concert video shortly before that ;D)

  11. Yeah, well there's really no shame in liking something. It's just entertainment, not life or death!

  12.  That's what I think as well, never be ashamed for what you like. Though I used to get teased a lot by some headbanging friends for my liking Country, or my family for liking Streisand.

im sorry if that was inappropriate but i just thought of it and couldnt stop laughing

  17.  Glad you enjoy it. Personally I find neither physical beauty nor sweetness of character a factor when it comes to music.

  18.  I agree on the pleasant colorfulness . That DID strike me as well in this video. :)

I really like that one.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA23b4Dptas&feature=relmfu Once with Will.i.am not so amazing but clever.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4umc87T5UMs&ob=av2n and her first solo video. I don't really like the song. But features dancing and some cool ink effects.

  20. I can't tell you how much respect I've just lost for you divadevotee, please get some taste. Cheryl Cole is an insult to music, both audible and visually.

  21. You know people used to say the same  thing to me when I told them I liked Mariah Carey or  Leona Lewis.  I personally can't ever imagine losing, or gaining for that matter, respect for anybody because of their taste in music. But everyone's different, such is life!  ('',) #nooffencetaken
