[Free For All] 2

Last week's "Free For All" post worked strangely well! So let's throw another one out there a week later. My thoughts are this is too close to the last one and I should spread them out to twice a month, but who knows, you guys might have news you are dying to share!

A few rules though:

  • Try not to get too perverted-this site still needs to basically be "safe for work".
  • If somebody starts a controversial subject, try keeping it civil when dealing with it. If things get out of hand please flag the conversation.
  • It would be nice if it stuck to music, but it's not a requirement! So talk about news, current events, how you're getting your hair done next time you hit the hairdressers! Whateves, really!
  • No nasty comments aimed at other users. (That's a new one!)
The list of rules will probably grow again after this post. Enjoy! Inappropriate hugs for all y'all!

  2. Let me introduce you to Bonnie

McKee. She started off as a songwriter and managed to write several
#1-songs. I think her voice is amazing, i would like to hear something
about it from you technical guys. I linked three videos, one is her
brand new single, one is a live-medley of all the songs she has written
and the other is 'Breaking Bonnie' where she introduces herself. Give it
    a shot!

  3. Also, here is a video I missed posting on! Sorry Cici, didn't notice it till today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-TTNdyIMAE

I really like the choreography in the video, but the song I can't get into after seeing this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP8MnY1_dO0

  4. How did she get all those celebs in her video?! Wow!

    ReplyDelete
  5. I am inclined to agree this is too close to the other one but seeing as it has several posts right away...;-)

  6. the cici one...i love it , but i hate i love it. one of nicki's better verses but still bleh.

  7. Did you really mean to post that twerking vid? I'm confused...

    ReplyDelete
  8. lets hope you dont get pointlessly attacked again lol. maybe it was a gaga stan as you seem to have such a fan base with them haha ?.

    ReplyDelete
  9. No way! It should be a weekly thing! Free For All Fridays!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Never mind! I get it, it's the same song...now for a twerk analysis, he's not a very good twerker...at all.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Not liking her voice and seeing as her songs are exactly the kind of songs that keep me far away from most charting acts...this Bonnie is not bonny music to me at all. I prefer the Bonnie that is Raitt and the mcKee that is Maria.

  12. This way...

  13. I know!! Saw it on her Facebook. One and only King B.

  14. Like, I'm totally addicted to LoL atm.

  15. Lets talk about this one - Frank Ocean cancelled his tour in Australia after he was diagnosed with a tear in one of his vocal chords. What exactly does this mean? I have an idea but don't know what the extent of this injury means. For example, I have on numerous occasions shouted and screamed during football games and lost my voice. In a couple of days, its back. Was my vocal chords torn? or was it just strained?

  16. a lot of you have might have seen this but....LANA ATTACKED GAGA (verbally/lyrically) ! diva drama. i know lana shared some choice words about gaga over facebook in 2009 but this seems to hint at a past friendship gone wrong, funny thing is lana has worked on a track with gaga now.

  17. LOL or Beyonce or both.
But as you can see...DD added a new rule. I feel Special!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I understand that's 4 year's old?
Not surprisingly..." I approve the above message "

    ReplyDelete
  19. She's collaborated with most of them.

When I first heard this song (love the song, btw) I thought it had that "Katy Perry signature" to it. Then when I saw the video, I thought - whoa she even looks like Katy Perry! Of course, I soon realized that it was Katy along with all of the other celebs in the video.

By the way, Crystal, she recorded an album almost 10 years ago as well, she's from my city (Seattle!) and knew Macklemore growing up.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah I heard about that too.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeeeeaaaahhhh this track is old as fuck.

    ReplyDelete
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=CrmJsRym7XU (don't know how long this video will stay up on youtube)

OK, I'll be the one to post it! Can't wait to hear any opinion on this one!

Seeing as she wrote this a while ago, and TLC loves it I have to say that I am VERY happy that Gaga decided NOT to release it as her own. I actually can't stand how her voice sounds until around 2:20. The lyrics as well as production sound very TLC (and have 90ish feel) so I'm glad that they decided to use it. With that said does anyone else feel that the phrase "posh life" doesn't belong in the song? It just seems out of place IMO

    ReplyDelete
  23. I purposely didn't post on that. Since it's old - and Lana's supposedly written for Gaga's new album- i didn't want to start something by making a post on it. It is vicious though. lol

    ReplyDelete
  24. Some one tell me why that cat is sooo damn adorable...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Look at you Hannah, an expert in our midst!

    ReplyDelete
  26. So I wanted to let you know I got to see Bruno Mars in concert last Sunday. The man is AWESOME! Say what you want about his vocal technique, him being caught with cocaine (one time), or the fact that he's only 5'2 in heels, the guy can flat out sing and he can dance too. Writes his own music, his arrangements were great, got everybody standing up and singing. He's a little bit Bob Marley, a little bit Michael Jackson.

He was so good I forgave myself for coming to late and missing Ellie Goulding.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Do you know what? I can't stand Bruno- I'm not sure why, and that does make me feel like a jerk. But every one of his live performances ( that I've seen) has left me really impressed. That guy knows how to sing live and work a stage like few others. I'm sure one day I'll give in and just like him, but that day hasn't come yet. I can't knock his talent, though.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hahaha that's Beyonce.

    ReplyDelete
  29. yeah, i know its old but i think lana was hopping it wouldn't surface, .also did you hear gagas new songs gonna be called "applause" and she's doing a natural look for this album, no sparkly meat pants :( lol. and also lana was spotted with trashy fake tattoos on the set of her new music video, so much new music !.

    ReplyDelete
  30. What happened to Beyonce?!! I missed that. But to help with the confusion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2KabvvLF7M&feature=youtu.be&t=36s

    ReplyDelete
  31. If they were wearing any other colors Ciara's poor rock booty wouldn't have appeared to be moving. lol I love her but her but is like 90% muscle, 9% water and 0.99% booty fat.... I mean she is one lean strip of bacon.
She needs to go to twerk school. When you go on the down thrust, and you know you have a small booty, you have to tighten your trunks. It makes the actual BF (booty flop=the unit of measurement that gauges how powerfully one twerks) gain power, however, one must use it precisely.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It could be because his songs are on every station every 1/2 an hour? That's exactly how I feel about few divas who are popular here, namely Beyonce and Mariah but there are others on that list. I can't put a finger on it why I'm so annoyed by them. They are fantastic singers and Beyonce puts on an amazing show. Maybe its because they are so far over the top or because their songs are so overplayed on stations?

    ReplyDelete
  33. You could be on to something there!

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's a mirror into your own soul!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah, I had to check the title of the song after listening to it. "Posh life" doesn't work. I've never even heard the two words used together before- sounds clunky.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I loved the choreography- bar the twerking. " ...she is one lean strip of bacon", sums it up perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I love his music too

I just happened to express my opinions on her. ;-D

LOL Janet!!! Use to quite like her. Especially the dancing.

  41. Probably so. I dislike Bruno Mars as well haha. But I love his song "Liquor Store Blues."

  42. Ricky Yong Chin Yuan27 July 2013 at 02:54

It is already 4 years old. Why make a big deal out of it? -_-

    ReplyDelete
  43. The vocal chords are just like every other muscles. and when you work out or do something explosive without working out you can strain your muscles. And they can also tear. I have alot of friends that has torn chestmuscles, legmuscles and/or biceps.
But straining your muscles from shouting is not (so) dangerous for your vocal chord, and it's very common for rock/metal etc singers to lose their voices. But a tear in the chords, that is a very serious wound. And needs medical help and alot of time to heal.

    ReplyDelete
  44. theres absolutely no doubt the man can sing

but hes not really a dancer - even though everyone hates chris brown, thats a dancer

anyways bruno is talented but like everyone says he is just overexposed - and its weird because he's not really what i would consider a megastar, hes not really a name everyone knows or talks about but yet his music is always on the radio

it will rain is still my favorite song from him and overall its just such a good song
and i still remember him performing that a few years back at x factor and me being "wow this guy is a great singer"

so the guy is talented but i agree with diva and cant really stand him

    ReplyDelete
  45. the song is about her trans friend posh who she featured in her monster ball tour
they're good friends and its about her friend's fabulous

with that said i hate it and im glad she's not using it for her own
but with big artists these days - they usually write demo's left and right and give some away

im just glad gaga wont be officially releasing it

    ReplyDelete
  46. everyone's heard this
and frankly as a fan of both i dont care

lana has an amazing voice and i am a huge gaga fan so i can let this go
and honestly just because im a gaga fan doesnt mean i have to dislike artists that talk crap about her

    ReplyDelete
  47. this news saddens me because frank ocean is honestly one of my favorite artists if not my favorite artist

his material just really clicks with me and hopefully he can get the care he needs
but not a tear is something different from straining your voice and losing it for a day or two

    ReplyDelete
  48. shes to dark to be shakira haha

and yeah thats the one and only beyonce

i love bey but that weave is tired and ratchet looking
plus it got eaten by one of her stage fans (a real wind fan not a fan as in an admirer)

    ReplyDelete
  49. woops
    *too
    agh hate typos

    ReplyDelete
  50. yeah idk about her voice as of yet
but clearly she's doing something right if shes been that successful as a songwriter

the american girl song is catchy as hell though i know ive heard it somewhere before but know i know who sings it

    ReplyDelete
  51. jeez ok , i knew this was a billion years old and i know they were working together now. i can see how it looks like im makeing a big deal by saying "lana attacked gaga" in caps but i thought people would see i was directing that toward the surprise that lana del rey as an artist who isnt known to partake in feuds would release such a track wither it be 4,5 or 10 years old. think of this gif as after care for the trauma i seem to have caused.

  52. I really like her dynamics on the medley and i think her voice is really special with the same rock-vibe as katy perry's voice :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. why exactly don't you like her voice and what makes you hate those songs so much?

    ReplyDelete
  54. wow that's like so cool! Two friends happen to succeed in the music industry!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm going to take this time to share some underrated and possibly unheard of music.

  56. Her voice has an to my ears unpleasant sharpness to it.

And I am guessing you are not familiar with either Bonnie Raitt or Maria mcKee? Just put their songs next to this singers songs and you don't really need to ask why I don't like her songs.

Basically...I think they are totally meaningless and aimed at teens. ( and I am not a teen)They have no connection to my inner life now...or ever really.

I was just using Raitt and Maria mcKee because it would make a nice word play ( well in my mind anyway :-b ) but they ARE two singer/songwriters I like. (Maria especially is in fact one of my favorite songwriters) And typical for the kind of music I prefer. More adult themes treated a little deeper than the barely scratch surface deep of those Bonnie mcKee songs.

  58. Nope but I am totally owned by two cats and one dog. ;-D

    ReplyDelete
  59. loll awwww. My family bought a cat in 2000 and he died this year :(. We have a new cat now he's 6 months old and he's crazy loll. He follows us EVERYWHERE. He's so cute I love him :P. http://th09.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2013/103/7/5/gizmo__my_new_kitty_by_maarkb-d61kpk5.jpg

    ReplyDelete
  60. I mean who doesn't love cats? <3 hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thanks. That's what I figured but wanted to make sure. Losing ones voice wouldn't make news but a significant injury would.

Has this ever happened to any of you? This sounds so brutal and has to be so scary for a singer to go through this. Much like a knee injury to a soccer player or dancer.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Bruno can dance. He's not Chris Brown level but his moves are sharp, clean, and precise. He doesn't dance all that much, focusing more on his vocals.

I guess I'll sum it up like this. Bruno Mars is a singer who can dance, Chris Brown is a dancer who can (or can't) sing.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Mine are just one year old and yes...they are also very cute. The male learned from the dog and now growls when he is scared.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I have a corgi who grew up with cats. I got him when he was a little over a year old so he spent his puppy years with two cats. He has cat-like tendencies and movements, which is odd watching a short stumpy dog doing that. Cats must have swiped him a few times because he hates cats now.

And yes, like Opie, he owns me.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Haha you haven't caused any drama, you're good.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Awww. Poor puppy :P.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I don't really like Bruno Mars either though. I know he,s very talented but I don't like him or his music. Actually I don't like a lot of male singers. I pretty much only like Justin Bieber (don't laugh). I guess I like to stan for artists who are hated by a lot of people. Maybe it's just that when everybody likes and praises a certain artist it annoys me hahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Did anyone see When Bjork Met Attenborough last night? Thoughts?

Being a zoology student I found all the nature and evolution aspects interesting (it and Attenborough are the only bits that drew me to watch the show in the first place), but I think much of the arty farty bjork music bits started to go a bit over my head.... I like the idea of what she was trying to achieve though, the concept was interesting, but I don't think I'll be listening to Biophilia any time soon.

Care to tell me how you like it ? :-)

  70. I'm going to reserve judgment until I hear this with better audio than this recording had. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Recorded it and can't wait to watch! As for Biophilia, it was really hard for me to get into. Even now, it's the album in her discography I go back to least often. But i didn't have the accompanying app, so maybe I missed something.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I did have! Not any more though :'(

    ReplyDelete
  73. Thanks for the heads-up. Wish I'd read your comment before I posted as I wasn't sure where the performance took place!

You favourite Céline album is D'eux, right ?

    ReplyDelete
  75. No biggie, now you know :p thank you for posting this !

    ReplyDelete
  76. Indeed it is. But have to admit, haven't heard many other albums of Celine. I am a fan but not a big one. Not as big as I am of Alison Krauss. And I can assure you..I've listened over and over to way worse quality videos of her than the above of Celine. ;-D

  80. I am a huge Björk fan and to be honest, Biophilia used to be the album I ignored - used to be Volta, Vespertine being my fav. Then I saw Biophilia live, and I just got it. I could finally understand the whole thing lol If you miss something, then it's seeing it live. I never cared much about the apps.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Aww I'm sorry :(. What happened?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Chris Brown hasn't done anything new in terms of dance that we haven't seen from Michael and Usher many times before. He's really not that good, just well choreographed. And his singing sucks.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I didn't get Joel was talking about Brown being particularly innovative but more about his dancing skills in themselves. he mentions execution of moves when speaking of Bruno's dancing for instance.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Are their any Gospel fans out there? I love this folky sound that I grew up on. I can't listen to the urbanized pop sounding gospel. And this song is jsut funny. I love you Erica Campbell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwDbbAfRpKc

    ReplyDelete
  85. HAHAHAHAHA that fan tried to snatch her weave!

    ReplyDelete
  86. I understand that, which is why I said well choreographed, whereas Bruno is more improvisational. He's got a good few moves that remind me more of James Brown but then again Chris lips a lot of the time, which probably makes it easier, and I'm pretty sure Bruno never does/has.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Choreography and execution of said choreography are two different aspects of dance.
I understood Joel to address the one, you responded on the other. And now you repeat that. So don't say you understand they are two different aspects. You repeating the choreography argument says you don't.

  89. This singer is (sadly) one of the best we have in Norway!
She reminds me of Ellie goulding with her incredible sweet falsetto. If you like a very sweet and tender voice, please check her out ;)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmoFS5uw83E

    ReplyDelete
  90. Why " sadly"?
Though personally I can't stand her voice any more than indeed Ellie Goulding's, wouldn't say she is a bad singer.
Also, though she did move to Sweden..you guys also have Norway born Ane Brun ( see video below) who in my opinion is pretty damn wonderful. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  91. I so wish I had the time - I'm moving back to Canada in two weeks and new music is a treat I have no time for right now. But hey, your links aren't going anywhere, are they ? :-D

    ReplyDelete
  92. It's a little sad that a little seventeen year old is one of the best things we can produce :P But I never said she is a bad singer, quite good actually, very smooth and easy access from chest to headvoice.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I sure hope they're not going anywhere.. Took me a couple of years to gather the videos on my channel. LOL

Best of luck with the move. Hope you and your belongings will make it safely. :-)
Even if you try to limit it, it's at moments like that you realize how much crap, you care about, you collected ;-D

    ReplyDelete
  94. Aha, got ya now! :-)

So what do you think of Ane Brun? Not too much I guess if you didn't mention her but do you know her work?
I'd say her voice is as much an acquired taste as Astrid's and Ellie's but I think she is also a truly excellent songwriter.

    ReplyDelete
  95. That's great music BlackRobin. That's the kind of stuff I can overlook the " message" and just enjoy!
    Thanks for posting. :-)

  103. Its complicated to say the least but some people in my family do not like how I interact with you all so basically I had to delete my Facebook account but I'll reactivate it when the smoke clears.... I personally don't get what they don't like because I keep everything intelligible and structured even on my regular status updates.... I'll still be here though.... Sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Sorry to hear that. I would say you interact in a pretty positive way ( even if language wise you sometimes come on a bit strong). I mean, we are talking Art and stuff and people are stimulating you to do positive things with your life. Can't really see what the problem is myself but of course I don't know how your interactions on facebook are effecting your real life. But glad to hear you still will be on the blog and I hope the smoke clears soon. We will sorely miss you on facebook in the meantime. :-)

  107. Thanks lol That's what you get when you're the type of obsessions...it takes a while sometimes before you finally get to listen with an open mind to artists everybody else already discovered. ;-)

They're a band of three brothers that started playing acoustic covers as a way to get a little fame before releasing their own album, but their covers became so popular that they finally decided to do both things. The lead's voice is just so.... aaaah, I can't describe it, but it captivated me the first time I heard it. I'm gonna leave you here some of their stuff:

  116. Would love to hear anyone's opinion on things like Grammys, Billboard figures, album sales and things like that. Very frequently I find that people like to reference these when trying to prove or establish why their "fave" is the best or better than another. While I know that many of the previously mentioned quantifiers don't bare as much weight as one might think I find them interesting tidbits about each artist, and think it's funny that people very rarely mention actual vocal ability.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Personally I think most of such stuff is utterly meaningless. Some great artists sell well, some don't. Some greats win Grammies, some really undeserving ones (not meaning taste wise but comparative skill wise) win Grammies.

I always feel there is more value in how artists are rated by their peers. Provided it's done at moments when the praise is not coming at opportune pr moments where it's most likely PR directed.;-)

  118. I think she has a lovely voice. Very smooth and pretty. Like you said, wouldn't mind being stuck in an elevator with those :)

I agree that both Ellie's and Astrid's voices is not for everybody. ether you like or don't like that type of voices. I LOVE them, but that's my taste.
Ellie is indeed a great songwriter, better in halcyon, but there are still some nice writing in the lights album. Like; the writer

  119. I knew I had heard her name before, but I couldn't remember where, but I just found it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SCOimBo5tg I found this version loooong time ago and I loved it, but I lost the old MP3 I had this song in and couldn't remember her name to download it again.

  120. I meant actually that Ane is a great song writer. But I'm sure Ellie is as well since Stuey is a big fan of her. He usually has excellent taste. :-)

  121. LOL If only you had known to ask me. Alison has been my obsession for a few years now. have almost all of her stuff.

This live version of When You Say Nothing At All is my favorite ..

  123. She is such a fabulous sportswoman, not to mention a brilliant role model!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Totally. She definitely is both. Both of which I feel got reflected at the same time when she went for the straight out win on that 800 m. She didn't need to, title was hers already at that point. But she went for it anyway. That's sportsmanship and rolemodel at once imo.

    ReplyDelete
  125. oh good point, I didn't even think about that! I'd always considered The Grammys to be (like the Oscars) professional recognition for an artists achievements within the industry since it claims to analyze commercial success through album sales, charting position as well as an "objective" evaluation by a board of voters. Even though like you said some greats win Grammys and some really undeserving ones win Grammys ( which is why it's probably a flawed system). BUT I LOVE the idea of artists being evaluated by their peers in a non opportune PR moment! I wonder why they don't have that? It would basically be the SAG awards for music

  126. I think I'm gonna have to check more of her stuff because I just found this song in the related videos of that performance and I think I've fallen in love https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m69ABJdR0s8 The lyrics are so meaningful...

By the way, do you know she changes that line in the cover of When You Say Nothing At All? In the original it says "Try as they may, they could never define", and she says "Old Mr. Webster could never define".

    ReplyDelete
  127. Yes the Grammies ARE like that and I agree that is a whole lot better than "fan" voting.
But it seems to be a bit depended on category as well?
I know with the Oscars the specialized ones are voted on by the other artists specialized in the same area while the really big one like Best Film are voted on by everybody.

And of course it also depended on the people who are allowed to vote also choosing to actually take the time to listen and actually vote. I am sure many don't.

    ReplyDelete
  128. What " original" are you speaking of?

Alison Krauss is enormously respectful of lyrics. Often doesn't even change pronouns. I have seen interviews where she talks about particular songs (or on stage) and if she already changes a lyric, it's usually after having gotten in touch with the writer.
As far as I know the original definitely says the line "Old Mr Webster could never define"

  129. what do you think of this guys ? i think its awful in a completely perfect way. i should think its really really bad but i think its just full of quirks and honesty that iv come to expect from lana. even the screechy cat noises are enjoyable haha reminded me of a drunk 46 year old waitress singing in a texas club about her failed dreams and ex lover ......hahaha lana has that old tormented soul vibe with alot her songs.

  130. In terms of her own standards and the type of vocal image she projects, it was a spot-on showing. The occasional bends and pitchiness in the notes fit the "abandoned woman addicted to the bad boy" persona conveyed in the lyrics and make more a slightly more theatrical, cabaret performance. For fans familiar with Lana's discography and the Born to Die era, this was song was done well. Her backing band also stayed out of her way but stayed with her which was better for this set. For people who are entirely new to this artist, however, this performance might not be the best performance to capture her overall style in an accessible format. Her performance of "Ride" in the Netherlands would probably be a better first-timer introduction to her work.

    ReplyDelete
  131. i agree completely, each performance i see is different but brilliant and her vocals when i seen her live were as you said much more accessible to a large arena audience. i have to say lana is fast becoming my favourite current artist.

    ReplyDelete
  132. OK, I just checked it and the one I thought to be the original (Ronan Keating's version) wasn't (And I think that you already knew that I was talking about that version XD). Then I guess that Mr. Webster is someone personally related to the singer.

I'll give that playlist a check, let's see if I can find something else that I like ^^

    ReplyDelete
  133. Well, I guess that nobody's gonna care, but I have to say it: I FINALLY REACHED THE BELTED C5!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  134. LOL Yes, you being European, I suspected you thought Ronan's was the original. (How could we not since there must be not a European alive who doesn't know that Keating cover).

My guess is he changed it because most of his European audience would not get that " old mr Webster" refers to the standard American dictionary/thesaurus by Merriam-Websters. A company founded by a mr Webster.

    ReplyDelete
  135. LOL I never really care about the belting of some note. Not even of my favorite singers.
But seeing as it does mean a lot to you and I guess wasn't easy to achieve ( don't sing myself so I have no experience with it)...Kudos to you Leith!

  136. I completely agree with you Spark. Just want to add...generally I think it would visually have worked better if the had given her a barstool to sit on and a more classic spotlight lighting.
i think it would complete the visual image she is going for.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Yes, a bar stool with a half-full tumbler of whiskey for a prop.

    ReplyDelete
  138. LOL Yes, and I'll gladly help her fully empty the tumbler after the show.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Well sales, records, awards, relevance, influence and vocal technique and abilities are the only things that can be measured, because what the music makes you feel and other stuff that matters the most wen you listen to music are purely personal and cannot be used for these competitions. But stan wars are annoying anyway. Why can't we appreciate an artist without trying to claim their superiority?

    ReplyDelete
  140. LOL yes! I think cats have an ego and can be embarrassed. It's funny because it's such a human emotion.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Not so much an ego but a drive to hide pain. Cats though predators, can fall prey to much larger predators so they hide any amount of pain they might feel the best way they can. It is a reluctance to show pain because of an instinct that showing weakness results in unwanted attention. So....yeah....Its like an ego and is darn adorable when they just fly into stuff at full force. LOL.

  142. New album coming up in September by the Great Willie Nelson.

Called "To All The Girls" and it's a duet album with lots of Country/Americana ladies. ( especially looking forwards to Alison Krauss in Spanish myself???)
Here one track, with Mavies Staples, can be heard already.
Sounds real good if you ask me. :-)
