Though Kelly Rowland is serving-up generic inspirational fare with new song The Game, she's doing it pretty convincingly with a percussive backing and a solid vocal.
You guys should know by now that I eat this stuff up like I'm chronically deficient in self-belief, so it's no real surprise that I was into this from the first spin. Still, I do get the feeling this track would have ended up on the cutting room floor if Kelly had recorded it for her own album. Lucky for us though, it was recorded for a Pepsi promotion, so this b-side gets a video and some love.
Hopefully it'll be able to ride on the crest of the Brazilian craze that is sure to be coming with the start of the World Cup (yuck!) and chart high.
