P!nk Sings Acoustic set For Radio Station Z100

With the release of new single Blow Me (One Last Kiss), and her upcoming sixth studio album The Truth About Love (due September),  Pop-Punk princess P!nk is getting herself back out there and letting the world know she's ready to rock (publically), again!

Taking to the microphone at radio station Z100, P!nk delivered an effortless, acoustic set that included past hits Perfect and Who Knew. Anyone worried about the lack of raspiness on the new single needn't have worried, as it's present and accounted for here.

Check out the performances, as well as the interview given by P!nk, below!

  2. She never overdoes her vocal. Such a powerhouse in all ends of her range. She's amazing.

  3. There ya go Sean. A great example of someone reaching that high standard live. ;)

    1. Yeah, I see what ya mean now. I guess I was hung up on my bias for an artist that I liked. But then I suppose its easier to get the high quality sound thing if you're there in person. I am a firm believer in that it doesn't matter how good the cameras or mics are, they just never capture the true essence and atmosphere of live performing.
Also, I think my lack of experience with live music clouded my judgment and my obsession of a original vocal.
I understand what you mean now x) thanks.

  4. LOL Loved that interview. Always good to see a smart and funny woman. And what a great singer! But...don't think her songs really lend themselves to acoustic renditions. They are Big songs and need a Big setting as it were.

  5. Except for some off-tempo and off-key notes it was a nice little mini acoustic set :)

  6. I don't mind one or two off-key notes when it is clearly due to a small lapse of concentration rather than inability and/or laziness. But there were one or two indeed.

  7. is she reading the lyrics off her iPhone?

  8. I'm usually not too picky with pitch, as long as it's not glaringly obvious. I just think P!nk has more range to play around with since she quit smoking and I don't think she has gotten completely adjusted to this sudden freedom. As I noticed towards the end of "Who Knew" she was singing the parts of "'Cause they're ALL wrong" "I wish i COULD REMEMBER" "visit ME in my sleep" were a whole note higher than in the original making it a bit off pitch. I think she was just going at it with the same effort as the original version not realizing that would take it higher as she's gained more freedom in her voice.

  9. I have always admired pink for her vocals and also for her headstrong personality - i still think her grammy's performance of glitter in the air is one of the best.

  10. I have always loved how natural and raw her voice sounded and I am glad it seems to have returned to its former glory lol those two tracks above are favs of mine, I mean she is not only a fantastic song-writer but she is one of the best live singers around in this day and age! I will most defo be buying her new album thats for sure!

  11. Indeed I like her no nonsense attitude and the fact she has never been afraid to speak her mind! I have more respect for a celebrity like that than one who tries to be all nicey nicey for the sake of selling themselves and being someone they are not!

I think you are right about some of her material though, she should keep the arrangements that of the original. Some however are perfect stripped back ie 'I don't believe you'

  12. I agree, its on my favourites list. I think that performance shocked people (in a good way) because she not only managed to sing pitch perfect and emotionally fantastic but all the while being swung around like a rag doll lol brilliant stuff!

  13. LOL That's way too technical for me to comment on. Also I don't have the original of Who Knew. Know it mostly from the Letterman appearance ( which blew me away). I am not as big a fan as to seek out every version of Pink's songs. Tend to stick to the one I like.

  14. Yes, I was only talking about the two songs she did in the above videos.

I also have little respect for those not being themselves but what I really meant is that amongst those who are themselves, I find Pink particularly engaging and sympathetic. ;)

  15. I guess, there are plenty of jerks and wooden celebs out there, little or no charisma! But yes she is very engaging for sure!

  16. I wouldn't know. They are then obviously forgettable and that is what I do in that case. ;D

  17. Lol probably a wise choice to be honest, I bet it would have saved me a lot of time rather than investing in those that dont deserve my time hehe :D

  18. Thanks Stuey but it is not a choice, I am naturally gifted ( selfish) that way. What doesn't interest me, just wont stick in my mind. It's what got me a big fat F in Economy. ;D
