[Review] Cher Returns To Music With "Woman's World"

With the music scene being so focused on dance music at the moment, it was only a matter of time before we saw the re-emergence of the Grand Dame Of Divas herself, Cher!! Having reinvented herself as the Queen of the scene in the 90's with her massive hit Believe, Cher's decided now is the right time to reclaim the dance floor, unleashing her new single Woman's World.

Produced by veteran dance Dj/producer Paul Oakenfold, Woman's world is a track full of thumping beats, dark synths and a Euro-Dance sound that is purer than the mutated, sweeter, pop-infused offspring that is now running amok on the world charts. Combined with a set of empowered lyrics and a solid vocal, it's unsurprising that we're onto a winner here. A slightly repetitive, chorus heavy winner; but a winner no less.

Woman's World marks a welcome return for a Diva that has been part of popular culture for over five decades!!

Roll on 2013: it could be the year of the Cher!

Thanks to Brooklyn for bringing Woman's World to my attention!

  1. It's fantastic to hear from the big deal Diva herself. Even though the song feels like a recycled version of many of her songs it still has the "Cher" sound. Im very much excited.

  2. Her belts still sound righteous and full on this track. It is a bit repetitive and recycled, but this has Cher written all over it.

  5. Am I the only one here who dislikes this song?

I just feel its far too generic and 'heard-it-all-before' for someone of Cher's legendary status. I still love her but really wished she had brought something slightly fresher to the table.....maybe its a grower but so far I am just not sold...

  8. Music is becoming generic. Generic is how you get commercial success nowadays.

  9. She's a Goddes of pop!
Cher is an amazing singer and should be respected, she is not just made of autotune and dances singles, but also a unique and powerful voice.

I loved Woman's World and hopefully another great success this diva!
