[News Spam] Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Cher and Charlotte Church

Mariah Carey has released the title to the follow-up single to smash, #Beautiful. Are you ready for this? Well here it is, the name of her next single will be: The Art Of Letting Go...Yes, the same title as that of her new album. You know, the one she told us the name of back in August! Totally worth the wait...

Also, Mariah dropped a message to her lambs, via Facebook, telling them of the trials and tribulations that she has suffered of late. Her latest set will reflect these struggles, thus creating one of her most "important albums" to date . No shade, but Mariah, you say near enough the same thing everytime you release a new album. Still stoked for it though.

Hiiii lambs!!

I'm so happy to be able to catch up with everybody here on Facebook. The last three months of my life have not been easy. Getting through this injury has been the toughest experience of my life. It took me three months to get to this point but thank God I was able to recover and get my arm back. It's a huge deal, it should have taken eight months and even my doctors can't believe it. It's been a long journey, the physical therapists have been incredible and I am very grateful to all of them for helping me.

When people expected me to go "Here I am, I'm back and everything's great!", it didn't happen because my hand was still in tremendous pain and it took this long for it to heal. I've been working day and night, and it took a lot of rest (though I did sneak in to the studio a couple o' times!) but I can finally say that I am on my way to a full recovery.

There's a lot of excitement that I'm going to reveal to you very soon, and sooner than you know it, you're going to understand why but more than that, you're going to feel what I've been feeling for the past- not three months- but three years.

This is, to me, one of the most important albums I've ever made in my life. If you're a lamb, a fan, or just a human being that needs to feel good, happy, sad, miserable, joyous... "I gotcha" (said like Roc- you haven't heard how he says it yet but you will soon, it's a complete+total classic!)

I joked about Britney Spears being CGI-ed in the video for lastest single Work B!tch in the comments section of that post. Guess what? Turns out it may actually be true. Odd thing is, she actually looks great pre editing- and not that different. I guess someone doesn't think the public wants to see what hours of dancing does to a body- makes you look fierce, that's what!!

Also, the Diva has released the title for her December-due album. Say hello to LP number eight, Britney Jean.

Lady Gaga has released a taster of new track, G.U.Y. 12 seconds seems hardly worth listening to, but I'm sure someone will appreciate this preview of another Artpop song. I can't say I'm fussed about it in all honesty.

Cher is on track to gain her first top-40 hit (in the in UK) with new single, I Hope You Find It. This will be the first time in 12 years the singer has graced our charts! Whoop! Check out the lyric video for the ballad below.

Charlotte Church has weighed in on being a young female in the music industry. Commenting on her own experiences growing up in the oft-toxic environment, the Mezzo told the Radio Academy radio festival:

"There was a big clamour to cover my breasts as they wanted to keep me as young as possible...Then it became, 'You should definitely get them out, they look great.'"
She also spoke of her regret at the "sexing-up" of her own image when trying to break away from her classical roots:

"Whilst I can't defer all the blame away from myself, I was barely out of my teenage years, and the consequence of this portrayal of me is that now I am frequently abused on social media," she said. "Now I find it difficult to promote my music where it would be best suited because of my history.

"The culture of demeaning women in pop music is so ingrained as to become routine, from the way we are dealt with by management and labels, to the way we are presented to the public."
The more I hear about the inner workings of the industry, the dirtier I feel in supporting and propagating its "products"
.

  1. It just makes me so happy that Cher covered an obscure Miley Cyrus song from 2009 ahaha.
And I heard the Gaga snippet also, I can't say I was very impressed, I'm just not getting a lot of excitement for the new album.
Britney tho, she gets so many fat comments, even when she looks banging, when she's walking on the streets, when she's in concert, in her videos, it makes a lot of sense why her team would wanna give her some help, I disagree, but audiences can be tough these days, but I just found out about Britney Jean and I am SO ecstatic. The title just reminds me of The Emancipation of Mimi and other personal albums by other artists, as well as a callback to Britney's Revolutionary third album.
Speaking of Mariah, I'm actually pretty excited also, #Beautiful was nice and it sounded like she knew what she was doing as always, so good for her.

  2. So what was wrong with Mariah's arm anyway?

    And yay to Charlotte!

She manages to say something actually relevant about the antics of ,now Miley, but pop singers through the last couple of decades. (And withouth criticizing or denigrating any such pop stars past or present.)
It makes it harder to be taken seriously as an artist. Even many years later.
However...we ARE taking Charlotte serious now so I guess in the end...it makes it harder but not impossible. :-)

Cher single sounds really good though I think Miley's rendition was more my taste. Little rougher. Not sure how I feel about Cher criticizing Miley while at the same time covering one of her songs. It feels a tad..disingenuous tbh

Happy for Britney but if the album is a lot like that single, it definitely isn't going to be my cup of tea.

  3. Yeah people are merciless and ignorant. It's just so normal that the waist looks thicker when we bend like that. On one end there's people calling everybody fat pigs and such and on the other hand there's the other ones calling thin people ugly skeletons. So yes Britney is a big thicker than her Slave 4 U days but she's in no way fat or chubby, she's in a very athletic shape. I am also very thrilled about Britney Jean :).

I'm also excited about Mariah's new music. And Cher's album is very good.

  4. Actually I heard that Work Bitch was a single to promote Vegas and is not representative of the album, which is very personal. She said she called it Britney Jean because it's an endearment name used by her family and she wanted to share that part of her with her fans. The album will have many midtempo songs and a few ballads, songs by William Orbit, Sia, Diplo, Jean Baptise and a few others but she wrote or cowrote every song.

  5. Charlotte is a lyric soprano, started off as a light-lyric and has matured (barely) into a full lyric.

  6. I've learned not to try and guess how an album will sound based on how the singer herself describes it. Either way, I will give it a listen when it comes out for sure. If I am happily surprised...I'm all for that. :-)

  7. At this point I just have no idea of the sound :P. I'm open to anything.

  8. Cher's album is actually VERY good. I was expecting a half-assed basic EDM/Pop album (no shade, Madge), but all the songs are actually really really great, and they fit her voice well and I could jam to them and cry to some of them. And I'm really happy with the title of the album, because when she said the line in "I Walk Alone", it was very arresting and a perfect line for the album imo.

And yes, I hate how people just pick apart one frame of a bomb ass video where the tummy creases a little and calls it fat. If I was a 30+ year old woman who gave birth to two children, I would KILL to have a body like Britney. Hell, I'm a teenage boy and I wish my body looked as nice as hers.

  9. i am a gaga stan and i really dont like the G.U.Y snippet - it doesnt sound too promising

but who knows maybe the whole song will be different from this short snippet
i hated applause the first 50 times i heard it but its grown on me and its proven to be one of gagas bigger hits

based on what ive heard off the new album - a lot of it is about sex in some form which kind of irks me
yes i wanted her to stop being preachy but idk if sex is something she should mention in all her songs

with that said i dont have many expectations going into this era i just hope she regains even half of the amount of fame she had in 2010 - when she was what everyone was talking about

i love mariah and i honestly will always support her

britney looks great and honestly while work bitch isnt strong lyric wise - it sure is catchy when your driving to your minimum wage paying job.... =0

  11. Yes every song is great!! She really spent time to choose every song carefully and her voice is GREAT. This album is really alive and has a soul behind it. Honestly after hearing Woman's world I was also expecting a basic edm pop album but I was happily surprised :P.

And you know, people are like that. They wil try to find any flaw about a celebrity to pick them apart and make them feel better about them. Reductive, if you ask me.

Cher can do no wrong. EVER.

  13. Mariah's new song was cowritten by the same guy who wrote Whitney's "Its not right but it's ok". Something good is on the way.
