Gwen Stefani sure has an odd, wobbly delivery. I'd never really noticed it until I listened to this live showing of Used to Love You recorded for The Voice.
Not entirely sure how I feel about it. At times it works quite well with the song, but at other points it sounds darn right out of tune. Still, nice to hear the No Doubt Diva trying something a little new, sound wise. It's '80s enough to retain a sprinkling of the quirk Gwen usually comes with, however she needs to be careful about how close she gets to the mainstream spindle. Touch it, and there's the danger of her becoming another generic, run-of-the-mill pop star.
And nobody wants that.
