[Music Video] Grimes - "Kill V.Maim"

Grimes' Art Angels was another critically acclaimed LP for the alternative Diva.

Unlike her first album Visions, this one presented to the public an immediately more accessible body of work. With its poppier sounds and more straightforward, cleaner vocals, it functioned nicely as an easier route for the nervous into this Diva's wonderful world.

[Music Video] Grimes - "REALiTi" (Also: Why Some of Her Fans Suck!!!)

Alt-Diva Grimes faced a Mogo-sized backlash from fans when last track, Go, aired on YouTube in 2014.

Even though the track was initially created for Rihanna, the knowledge of this didn't help salve the butt-hurt fans who felt betrayed by the drastic change in style. (Seriously, I have never seen a fandom go off on an artist like that.) This wasn't something that went unnoticed by the Diva, who, instead of sticking a middle finger up at the crybabies and affirming her own artistry, encouraged their bull**** sympathised with them by saying: "It upsets a lot of my fans, and I get why it upsets them...Everybody was like, ‘Oh, Grimes is pandering to the radio."

[Music Video] Grimes - "Go"

Go was revealed in June to be the song Vancouver-born musician Grimes had submitted to the captain of the Navy- AKA Rihanna- for consideration for R8. Unfortunately it wasn't picked up for that project by Rih, leaving Grimes- who penned it- to claim it as her own and release it anyway.

Thank Gawd she did, because I loves it!!

Grimes "Visions" [Album Review]

Visions single handedly stopped me topping myself after hearing Tulisa had hit the top spot last week with her awful debut single,We Are Young. Despite having never heard of Grimes before, Visions is actually the 24 year old Canadians third album, so it seems like I'm late to the party.

Grimes is that special kind of Diva, one whose creativity can almost literally be felt oozing out of the speakers. It was just what I needed to wash away the apathy and "woe-is-me" feelings I was starting to get from the overexposure of certain Divas and trends in current popular music.

It is almost unbelievable to me that this was not only recorded in 3 weeks, but was entirely written and produced by the musician in her apartment.
