Celine Dion Covers Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" [Listen]

I was just yesterday thinking how there was a distinct lack of Celine Dion on this site! Well today this live performance of Celine Dion singing Adele's Rolling In The Deep fell into my lap, almost as if a gift! Take a listen below.

Adele's "21" Overtakes Michael Jackson's "Thriller" on "Greatest Selling Albums ever" List

Adele keeps on selling! Have spent 65 weeks on the UK chart with her album 21, and amassing sales of 4,274,300 copies, the 23-year-old singer /songwriter manages the extraordinary feat of overtaking Michael Jackson's Thriller on the list of greatest selling albums in the United Kingdom.

Having been released in January of 2011, it's an amazing feat for it to have achieved those numbers in just a year and a half. But it's even more amazing that it has done so with minimal promotion, and no supporting tour.

Adele "Set Fire To The Rain" [Dubstep Skillrex Mashup]

adele skillrex

Another mash-up for you guys. As with last time it features the lovely Adele's vocals being overlaid on to a more contemporary and electronic sound- much like her mash-up with Britney Spears' Till The World Ends [here]. This time the backing is provided by hipster Anti-Christ, and usurper of the dubstep sound, Skillrex and his song Kill Everybody (Bare Noize Remix).

When it rains it pours, and that seems to be the case with Adele. Having suffered a drought of performances while the star underwent throat surgery, the rains have now come and Adele has performed live twice in as many weeks: firstly at the 2012 Grammy Awards [ Link] and tonight at the "Brits".

Review: Adele's Performance of "Rolling In the Deep" At 2012 Grammys [watch]

Adele has finally returned to the spotlight after months out of the public eye, healing from surgery on her vocal chords following a vocal hemorrhage last year. And what better time to make that return than at the biggest music award ceremony on the calender, the 2012 Grammys. Not only performing tonight, the singer is also nominated for six Grammy awards, including the coveted album of the year for 21.

Adele's First Vocal Performance of 2012, After Surgery. But Has Her Voice Recovered? Listen and Judge For Yourself

Thank the heavens, Adele's voice is back! After the trauma it had been through last year [read more] and the vocal chord surgery, I was worried it would go the way of Julie Andrews', and come back a damaged instrument! Thankfully, this hasn't happened. Listen below!

Vocal news: Adele cancels shows to recuperate her voice and Christina Aguilera FINALLY decides to take vocal lessons, a decade into her career.

Vocal news from two of our Divas today: one piece great, and one  piece bad, but both resulting in our singers going back to vocal school to brush up on their technique.

Firstly we look to Christina Aguilera for the good, no GREAT news that FINALLY, allegedly mind, she has enlisted a vocal coach- Seth Riggs -to tame that unwiedly bastion that is her voice! I can only drool at the thought of what some proper training and instruction will do for her. It may just make that "voice of a generation" title her fans so proudly throw about finally ring with some truth, because as she is, with technique that bad, it is both undeserving and a sad indictment on my generation of singers for her to be called that yet.

2011 MTV Video Music Award Performance reviews: Adele, sounding a little rough, Beyonce lip-synching and Lady Gaga embarrassing!

What a strange and surreal experience this year's MTV Video Music Awards was. I think, in all honestly, at 27 I'm getting a little too old and jaded for this show. However, as there were Divas performing on the bill I had to watch! Below is my review of Adele's, Lady Gaga's and Beyonce's performances from the night. If you haven't seen them yourself, I've posted the videos too, so there is no excuse for not letting me know what you think in the comments.

Adele covers Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't make you Love Me" at the Itunes Festivel 2011

Adele performed a beautifully understated rendition of the Bonnie Raitt's classic I Can't make you Love Me at the Itunes festival yesterday. Despite just having recovered from vocal problems the singer performed a stunning set that demonstrated that although still not a hundred percent back to form, Adele's voice is still light years ahead of anyone else on the charts at the moment.

Watch and listen to the performance, and the Bonnie Raitt original, below.

Adele vs Britney Spears: "Rolling Till The World Ends" (Mash-up)

Not more than half an hour ago I responded to a comment regarding a concern over Adele's longevity in the context of a perceived lack of versatility in her vocal styling.

Brit Awards 2011 Best performance: Adele "Someone like you"

Adele performing Someone Like you at the 2011 Brit Awards

Adele gave another spine-tingling performance of Someone Like You at the Brit Awards yesterday. Adele forfeited any of the fluff and extravagance usually spent on a Brit Award performance, and instead kept it simple with only a piano and some sparkling confetti- that added to the magical feel of the performance- to accompany her bewitching voice.
