Nicole Scherzingers' covers Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" with mixed results.

The newly appointed X-Factor (USA) co-host Nicole Scherzinger decided to show all just why she deserves to be upgraded to a coveted place on the judging panel- if reports that Cheryl Cole has been given the boot are to be believed- by giving a solid performance of Adele's Billboard number 1 hit Rolling in the deep.

Nicole's vocals are solid throughout but take a dip in quality when attempting the higher belts of the chorus. Though the singer does manage to hit the notes, unfortunately there's a tradeoff in the decline of the vocal quality and her voice becomes harsh, pushed and unpleasantly overbearing.

However, that's a minor quibble, and overall Nicole managed to give a great performance of an exceptional song!

Review : 4 Minutes "Mirror Mirror"

I stumbled upon Mirror Mirror by South Korean girl-group 4 Minutes totally by chance. Despite not understanding 99.9% of the song, the production caught me hook, line and sinker from the first bar- I love the nostalgic 80s hip-hop drum loop that's been incorporated into the electronic production. The vocals aren't anything special, with the belt at 2.07 sounding terrible (though she redeems herself at 3.10), but as a whole Mirror Mirror its still a poptastically addictive slice of musical pie.

Beyonce "Runs The World (Girls)" @ the 2011 Billboard awards

Beyonce's commitment to taking her craft to the next level is inspiring. Check out her amazing live performance of Runs the world (girls) at the 2011 Billboard awards to see what I mean.

Clever use of screens, lighting, extras and pyrotechnics gave this showing a cutting edge, futuristic feel. But it was the singer's stage presence that really shone, never being overwhelmed by all the spectacle that shared her stage.

Watch the performance below and see why Queen B is on a level of her own when it comes to putting on a show.

Video review: Beyoncé does Post-apocolyptic Stripper in new video for "Who runs the world (girls)"

With Who runs the world (Girls)- which I actually quite like- tumbling on world charts, Beyonce has finally got her act together and released its accompanying video. But with the song suffering from a lukewarm reception, at best, it's going to make one hell of a video to reverse the song's fortunes. The teaser for the video certainly gave me hope that it would do just that. It hinted at impending greatness; featuring an iconic visual of a strong, commanding Beyonce atop a white horse rampant, as if getting ready to mobilise and lead the females of the world to empowerment.
