[Q&A] Why ery'one be hating on JLO all the time?

Question:
I would like to know why people pick on Jlo so much? I mean she clearly is no Whitney, but i really think she is consistent with what she puts out there vocally and she really does well within her limits, specially in the later years so i don’t get it.

Say Whatcha Want Saturday

This will not be a regular thing, but since I didn't have the time to put up the usual "Free For All Friday" post yesterday, welcome to the one time only "Say whatcha want Saturday".

If you don't know the score, here be the rules:
  • Try not to get too perverted- this site needs to basically be "safe for work".
  • If somebody starts a controversial subject, try keeping it civil when dealing with it. If things get out of hand please flag the conversation.
  • It would be nice if it stuck to music, but it's not a requirement! So talk about news, current events, how you're getting your hair done next time you hit the hairdresser! Whateves, really!
  • No nasty comments aimed at other users.
Inappropriate hugs to all of y'all (hi-fives to the underagers), and wishing you an awesome weekend!

Rihanna Outshines All With Iconoic Back Catalogue @ 2016 VMAs

Boy oh boy was I losing faith in the 2016 VMA performances. Beyonce was boring, Ariana Grande was vocally a mess and Britney Spears was amateur hour at the Apollo. But then came the Goddess Rihanna who brought not only a plethora of her hits, over multiple performances, but energy, fun and that infectious IDGAF attitude.

What Was Going on With Ariana Grande's Voice @ 2016 VMAs?

Who in their right mind thought it would be a good idea for Ariana Grande to start a live performance taking part in a spin class?

Britney Spears Sadly Didn't Slay Like We Wanted @ 2016 VMAs

You know I love Britney Spears. Yes, honestly. And as much as I always want to give her the benefit of the doubt and an easy ride, her performance at this year's VMA's wasn't great.

[Shock!] Beyonce Bores With Lemonade Medley @ 2016 VMAs

Beyonce was the Queen of the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, winning, like, all the Moon Men and becoming the show's most awarded star, like, eva.

But she didn't just come to take yesterday, she also gave, spoiling MTV with a medley of songs from her latest smash, Lemonade. Less a string of songs following one another and more a production, the set contained interludes that tied it all together, adding drama and faux-depth. Still, I found it kinda boring, and drawn-out, with Beyonce serving me lethargy and too much booty (who would have thought that was possible).

Like Electro-Pop? Then You'll Love Aubrey O'Day's Dumblonde

Never be early to a party, is what people say. And that's why I don't have any shame in admitting that I was tardy to acknowledging the slaytion of electro-pop duo Dumblonde.

For those not in the know, Dumblonde formed from the ashes of one of the greatest girl bands of recent years, Danity Kane. Whereas eyes (mine included) were firmly fixed on the solo material of the group's avant-garde member Dawn Richard, the duo of Shannon Bex and Aubrey O'Day slipped under the radar with their 2015 self-titled LP.

With an upbeat sound, feather-light vocals and more hooks than a Peter Pan convention, a cursory listen would have a lazy mug writing this project off as the musical personification of their namesake: a dumb blonde. But making great pop is no easy feat, and it's only with a somewhat clinical, detached ear that the skill, depth and heart running through the project is revealed.
