Halloween is a comin'

If you don't know the score, here be the rules:

  • It would be nice if it stuck to music, but it's not a requirement! So talk about news, current events, how you're getting your hair done next time you hit the hairdresser! Whateves, really!
  • No nasty comments aimed at other users.

Lady Gaga - Late Late Show's "Carpool Karaoke"

With new album Joanne out, now was the purrrfect time for Lady Gaga to unfurl that claw, stick out that thumb and hitch a ride on The Late Late Show's Carpool Karaoke.

Joining host James Corden, the Diva busted out those fine vocal chops, effortlessly giving good voice as she ran through her many hit records. Functioning as an interview also, the pair touched on the Super Bowl, writing, fashion and her recently passing her driving test.

Cop a feel of this latest Carpool Karaoke.

Lady Gaga Belts Out 'Million Reasons' Live On The Howard Stern Show

Joanne, Lady Gaga's newest LP is on sale this week. Have ya heard it yet? I haven't, naughty DD. And with it comes a promotional tour to push album number six to the unwashed masses.

Stopping off with Howard Stern, the Diva carried on her tradition of delivering stunning, stripped back performances on the shock jock's show. Both raw and measured, it was a rendition of Million Reasons that had near enough everyone in tears by its end.

Take a listen and see if it has the same effect on you.

Nicole Scherzinger Opens X-Factor With Diva Mash-up

Nicole Scherzinger has something that no other female X-Factor judge has had: an actual singing voice. And boooooy did she show it off during the opening of yesterday's "Divas week" show.

Recognising her voice, folks claim Scherzy's muted success post PCD is due to her lack of solo stage presence. This mash-up of I'm Every Woman and Respect contradicts that assertion. Charisma, nerve and talent were all out in force while she belted out the Whitney/Chakka and Aretha medley. The vocals were slightly dry in tone, but the effortless quality to which she tackled two tough songs is proof that this woman has every right to be judging a singing contest.

Little Mix Bring "Shout Out To My Ex!" To X-Factor

Little Mix are back with new single, Shout Out To My Ex!. Performing on the X-Factor for the first time, the Divas gave a tantalising taste of what could be awaiting this year's contestant(s) if they win.

Vocally it wasn't 100% polished and some of the harmonies were weak. But strutting, nerves and this being the first time they've performed Shout Out would do that to a girl. However, it came together and improved as it went on and the backing kicked in. Though it was nice to see them working a large production, I couldn't help but notice breath support was a consistent issue for all of them. Odd considering how much they've toured since winning.

[Watch] Whitney, Luther, Dionne and Stevie Slay 1987 Soul Train Awards

Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Dionne Warwick

Having Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Dionne Warwick and Stevie Wonder on one stage was always going to result in an iconic moment in musical history. Singing That's What Friends Are For at the 1987 Soul Train Music Awards, the foursome did what came only naturally and served-up unashamedly potent vocals.

So why am I showing you this video, now? Ignoring that I only recently discovered it, there are a few things that had me wanting to put 21st century pen to paper. First up, some love for Dionne Warwick. Her delivery is easy and free of clutter, but it belies the skill that is going on with her dynamics, pitch and annunciation. She is the definition of an effortless singer, and as such, is often overlooked and underrated. Get into her!
