Mary J. Blige Bares Soul with "Thick Of It"

mary j blige thick of it

Mary J. Blige is going through some shiz right now. With her 12 year marriage broken, the Diva has turned to the one constant in her life to make sense of her current predicament: music. And it's with the help of Jazmine Sullivan that the Diva has channelled all that angst and created one of her best lead singles to date with the Thick Of It.

Though dabbling in old school Rnb with its sample, the DJ Camper-produced cut remains current sounding and fresh. But it's Mary's soulful vocals that are the real star. Even though I loved her last LP, The London Sessions, I feel like I haven't heard her sing with this kind of conviction in some time.

Maybe no more drama is what she needed after all.

[Watch] Monica Naranjo Covers "Amazing Grace"

Amazing Grace is a hymn we have heard covered time and time again. From pop to rock, this John Newton-penned message of redemption has touched many, and been tackled in almost every way imaginable. However, today comes the day we see how powerhouse vocalist, Monica Naranjo chose to tackle it.

It may surprise some of y'all.

Leona Lewis Brings "Memory" To DWTS

leona lewis dwts memory

Even though she's wrapped up her time in Cats, Leona Lewis has basically become the current face of the Broadway musical.

Representing the show at Dancing with the Stars, Leona performed one of its most iconic songs, Memory. And what an ambassador she was, providing an impressive and faithful rendition for dancers Calvin and Lindsay to Waltz to. Admittedly not the biggest fan of the timbre of Lewis' mid-range, of which there was plenty, I still found myself "here" for this.

[Watch] CMA Audience Stay Salty with Beyonce

When news broke that Beyonce was opening the 2016 Country Music Awards, people were not happy. Considering her (wrongly) to be "Anti-police" because of her support for the Black Live Matters movement, the crazy folk on Twitter were screaming for a boycott of the award show. (I'm sure that was the real and only reason *rolls eyes*)

[Free For All Friday]

Halloween is a comin'

If you don't know the score, here be the rules:
  • Try not to get too perverted- this site needs to basically be "safe for work".
  • If somebody starts a controversial subject, try keeping it civil when dealing with it. If things get out of hand please flag the conversation.
  • It would be nice if it stuck to music, but it's not a requirement! So talk about news, current events, how you're getting your hair done next time you hit the hairdresser! Whateves, really!
  • No nasty comments aimed at other users.
Inappropriate hugs to all of y'all (hi-fives to the underagers), and wishing you an awesome weekend!

Lady Gaga - Late Late Show's "Carpool Karaoke"

With new album Joanne out, now was the purrrfect time for Lady Gaga to unfurl that claw, stick out that thumb and hitch a ride on The Late Late Show's Carpool Karaoke.

Joining host James Corden, the Diva busted out those fine vocal chops, effortlessly giving good voice as she ran through her many hit records. Functioning as an interview also, the pair touched on the Super Bowl, writing, fashion and her recently passing her driving test.

Cop a feel of this latest Carpool Karaoke.

Lady Gaga Belts Out 'Million Reasons' Live On The Howard Stern Show

Joanne, Lady Gaga's newest LP is on sale this week. Have ya heard it yet? I haven't, naughty DD. And with it comes a promotional tour to push album number six to the unwashed masses.

Stopping off with Howard Stern, the Diva carried on her tradition of delivering stunning, stripped back performances on the shock jock's show. Both raw and measured, it was a rendition of Million Reasons that had near enough everyone in tears by its end.

Take a listen and see if it has the same effect on you.
