[Spotify] "Jazzy Mariah Carey"

Are you guys using Spotify? It's like the greatest thing ever since they did away with their limits earlier in the year.

[New Music] Fergie - "L.A. Love (La La)"

How can you improve your chances of a global hit? Squeeze as many country/towns into your three minute song as you can, that's how! GENIUS!

This might be the logic behind BEP singer Fergie's comeback single L.A. Love (La La), where the Diva seemingly opened her atlas app and started shouting random places into the microphone. Ok, so it's a tad more lyrical than that, but even still, if there are more than two writers on this song I will be disappointed...goes to check. Returns disappointed. There are four writers listed: Fergie, Dijon McFarlane, Shomari Wilson and Royce Thomas Theron Thomas. Oh well, I'll get over it.

Aretha Franklin Covers "Rolling In The Deep" Live @ Late Show

Yesterday had many of us suffering a Marmite-like response to Aretha Franklin's cover of Rolling In The Deep. Some loved it, some hated it, but with the release also came suspicions!! Suspicions that....brace yourself.... the Queen Of Soul's vocal weren't all her own, having had some help from a computer. SAY THERE AIN'T NO WAY!

[New Music] Aretha Franklin Covers Adele's "Rolling In The Deep"

"Drunk aunt" pretty much sums up my thoughts on this, must have been a one-take, cover by Aretha Franklin of Adele's  Rolling in the Deep. The addition of  Ain't No Mountain High Enough at the end is just as unexpected as some of the weird vocal choices made by the Diva, but I can see why the producer added it. Aretha's improv sounds better, and less jarring, over that than the Rolling in the Deep backing.

[Watch] Lady Gaga Covers "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)", Live

Lady Gaga has a new album to promote, didn't cha know?! Well, it's not strictly just a Gaga affair. In tow is legendary crooner Tony Bennett, with who she has collaborated on said album, Cheek to Cheek (is it wrong that that title makes me smirk?).

[Album Review] Kylie + Garibay - "Sleepwalker" EP

Kylie Minogue's last album, Kiss Me Once, didn't exactly set the world alight with its over-produced brand of pop. Though I enjoyed the LP- not as much as her previous releases, mind- something just didn't ring true with its direction or sound. It was as if the album was missing its heart, being a music by numbers creation, rather than a labor of love.

However, Kylie seems to have overcome this with her new EP, Sleepwalker.

Teaming up with music producer Garibay- who has worked with Lady Gaga and Britney Spears- the duo have crafted four tracks that sound so much more "Kylie" than anything found on Kiss Me Once.

[New Music] Azealia Banks - "Chasing Time"

Azealia Banks has been giving me all kinds of life with her new song, Chasing Time, since it hit earlier in the week.

[Music Video] Cyndi Lauper and Sara Bareilles - "Truly Brave”

We all like to support a good cause, and it looks like Cyndi Lauper and Sara Bareilles are no different. The pair have released a mash-up of two of their songs to raise awareness- and money- for pediatric cancer. The blurb from the YouTube video covers the specifics:

Introducing Jo Hamilton ( I Love This Diva)

I'm a big Jo Hamilton fan, so I'm wondering why I've never featured her on the blog before.

I think my thought process behind this travesty was that I discovered her a while after her first album had been released. Thus, I must have been waiting for some new material from the singer-songwriter to showcase to all of you. However, somehow I missed the release of the video for song Think Of Me back in February, and so a perfect opportunity to create a post slipped by.
