Christina Aguilera Duet Kills Ariana Grande's Set @ The Voice Finale !!! (In A Bad Way)

We can forgive Ariana Grande for being slightly lethargic during her showing of Into You and Dangerous Woman at The Voice. Coming off of the back of her brilliant set at the Billboard Music Awards, it wasn't entirely unexpected that she had a little less bounce in her step. Perhaps that's why Christina Aguilera was added to the musical soup - to spice it up.

Arianna Grande Gets Audience On Their Feet @ 2016 Billboard Awards

Ariana Grande may just have pipped all others to being my favourite performance of the night at the 2016 Billboard Awards.

Keen to show the breadth of her talents, the Diva gave us effortless vocals, choreography, instrument playing and a ton of stage presence! Belting out the electro-dance track Into You, Ariana was on fine form from start to finish. And the audience agreed, being on their feet, dancing like nobody was watching..but we were...and some of it was sort of tragic.

Still, check out the performance and see if you agree.

Kesha Makes It To The Billboard Awards 2016 and Performs Bob Dylan Cover, "It Ain't Me, Babe"

The impression that I was under, was that Kesha wouldn't be performing at the 2016 Billboard Awards. But it looks like Sony/Kemosabe Records finally came to their senses as there she was, on the night, performing the Bob Dylan song, It Ain’t Me, Babe.

A standing ovation of course followed, but was it for the performance itself, or in sympathy and support for embattled singer-songwriter? Watch and decide for yourself.

[Watch] Britney Spears Takes Billboard Awards 2016 On A Journey With A Medley Of Her Hits

Britney Spears put on quite the show at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

Singing a medley of hits, the Diva had set pieces, dancers and all kinds of razzle-dazzle going on. The first few minutes were concerning, having me convinced it was going to be eight minutes of smoke and mirrors to distract from Spears' robotic movements. However, as she progressed through the set, the stomping around the stage and spastic movements became less frequent, as fluidity and life came to the Diva.

Celine Dion Electrifies the Billboard Awards With "The Show Must Go On" Cover

Celine Dion has a had a tough time of late, losing both her husband and brother in quick succession. Still reeling from those losses, the Diva gave a tearful acceptance speech when collected the Icon Award at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards.

The Legend also performed at the show, singing the dramatic and fitting Queen cover: The Show Must Go On.  Delivering an electric rendition, the Diva reminded all why she is considered to be one of the best vocalists of past and present, owning the stage like the music royalty she is.

*sorry for the cruddy quality of the video. Will embed a new one if I find.*

[Watch] Rihanna Shocks With Versatile Vocals @ 2016 Billboard Awards

rihanna billboard 2016

Even though Needed Me is the single currently climbing the Hot 100, Rihanna, in her infinite wisdom, decided to forgo giving it that further push by singing it at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. Instead, it was the classic-sounding Love on The Brain that got the gig.

Despite Accusations Of Lipping, Beyonce Hits a Great F5 On First Date Of "Formation" World Tour

The juggernaut that is the Formation tour has officially taken flight as of yesterday! Your Queen is on her way to a makeshift hive near you, are y'all ready!?

Starting in Miami, the tour has kept the buzz around Beyonce- initially created by the critically acclaimed Lemonade release this week- humming nicely.  Props to whoever coordinated the roll out of this project! It's practically perfect in every way.

Ariana Grande Takes "Dangerous Woman" To "Tonight Show"

Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman  left my mind almost as quickly as it came to it (i.e. instantaneously).

But good on the Diva, she's clearly feeling some kind of way about it and is still promoting. To those of you who aren't feeling it either, but still want to hear how the Diva's upper-belts are fairing, skip to 2.40. She sounds good, but there's a whiny quality to them that doesn't do the lyrical content any favours.

Jennifer Lopez Sings the awful "I Ain't Your Mama" and the sublime "Let's Get Loud" @ AMERICAN IDOL

A live showing of a song usually helps me make a better connection with it.

But this didn't happen with JLo's American Idol rendition of new single I Ain't Your Mama. Still sounding flat, dull and insipid- strangely even more so live- watching this actually shifted me from being unbothered by the song, to actively disliking it. The awful production was partially to blame, with the dancers waking me up to how awful the lyrics truly are with their Mr Mime choreography.

[Watch] Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia and LaToya London Join Forces For American Idol Performance

American Idol has finally bowed out, finding its last winner in some dude- I haven't been watching, didn't cha know. Peppered throughout this final season, prior contestants have reappeared to pay tribute to the show that launched their respective careers.

Two of its biggest success stories, Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia, were part of the mix last night.

Jazmine Sullivan Continues to Show up your Favourites With "Masterpiece" @ Black Girls Rock

With Black Girls Rock message being one of celebratory empowerment, Jazmine Sulivan's choice to perform the uplifting Masterpiece at the show was a master stroke.

With that magnificent voice out in full force, she, and the dancers, sold the song so convincingly that even cynical old me felt better for watching it. But aside from the feels, the consistency running throughout the range was crazy. Even in her head voice, that beautiful husky timbre was representing and I was loving it! #Teamhusky... ;)

Brandy Slays "Beggin & Pleadin" Performance @ Black Girls Rock

Me and my pigeon brain had forgotten all about Brandy's excellent comeback song, Beggin' and Pleadin'.

However, her performance of it at this year's Black Girls Rock has entirely reignited my love for it! She.KILLED.It! Singing like her life depended on it, the Diva was serving all kinds of fire. Not only was the performance impassioned and raw, but the voice was sounding so good, with runs flowing like Niagara.

Pour yourself a bourbon and get into it.

Lady Gaga Performs A Powerful Rendition of "Til It Happens To You" @ Oscars 2016

Lady Gaga was nominated for an Oscarthis year with the song Til It Happens to You.

Lifted from The Hunting Ground, a documentary about college campus sexual assaults, the Diva also sang it live for the audience on the night. Though missing out on the actual award, it was nonetheless a powerful showing from Gaga, who further impressed the song's important message upon the audience by sharing her stage with sexual assault survivors.

Take a listen, below.

Lorde Tributes David Bowie @ BRIT Awards 2016

Whereas Lady Gaga's tribute to David Bowie at the 2016 Grammy Awards was kinda panned -not by me- for being more hammy than authentic, a better reaction was elicited by Lorde who performed Life on Mars at the 2016 BRIT awards, yesterday. One person in particular who was happier with it was the icon's son, who called it "beautiful".

[Watch] Jess Glynne Brings a Medley of Hits to 2016 BRIT Awards

We've not really discussed husky voiced, UK singer, Jess Glynne on the website. So what better time to do so than after watching the Diva perform a medley of her material at the 2016 BRIT Awards.

[Watch] Little Mix Bring their "Black Magic" to BRIT Awards 2016

Little Mix used the BRIT Awards to demonstrate why they're currently the world's biggest girl group. Performing Black Magic, the ladies put on a spooky spectacle for the 02 crowd, with choreography, extras, set pieces, lights and live vocals all out in force.

There was only one weak link in the performance, and that was (*runs to Google to look up name*) Leigh-Anne Pinnock who consistently gave a shaky vocal when it came her time to sing. It wasn't awful by any means, just not as confident when contrasted with her singing sisters.

[Watch] Rihanna Brings SZA and Drake To The 2016 BRIT Awards

Having cancelled her performance at the Grammys last week due to “bronchitis”, I was half expecting a similar fate to befall Rihanna's appearance at yesterday's 2016 BRIT Awards. But nope, she turned up and turned it out...to an extent.

[Watch] Adele Brings Strained Rendition of "When We Were Young" to 2016 BRIT Awards

Adele didn't have the best of time at the Grammys- read: out of tune. However, back on home soil, and (arguably) on the award show that catapulted her to super stardom, the Diva appeared more relaxed.

Demi Lovato nails Christina Aguilera Impression on Tonight Show's "Wheel of Musical Impressions"

Christina Aguilera has done it. Ariana Grande has done it. And now comes the time for fellow vocalist, Demi Lovato, to peacock those mimicking skills on The Tonight Show's Wheel of Musical Impressions. Most interestingly from the segment was Demi tackling Ms. Aguilera's style, which she had to apply to the Spongebob Squarepants theme. Oh, The Tonight Show, you're so wacky....*Eye roll*

Sia Explains the Disguises (again) and Belts out "Diamonds" During Late Show Carpool

Late Show carpool time has rolled around again! This time being solicited by James Corden is Aussie singer-songwriter, Sia.

To those who thought the Diva had been using all those wacky disguises to mask lipped notes, be prepared to eat some pie of the humble variety. Sia kills it on the vocal front. James, on the other hand, unfortunately hinders more than he helps, getting in the way of some of the Diva's ad-libs.
